Beaufort House residents and staff have truly embraced the Christmas spirit 🎄✨

On Wednesday, we were delighted to welcome residents’ families and friends to join us for our Christmas party. The staff led the entertainment — with fantastic support from our lovely residents!

Our creative book club selected Christmas poems that had the whole room laughing their socks off, and Pavi’s performance was on another level entirely. We also enjoyed carol singing, with everyone joining in to make it a memorable moment 🎅🤶🎶

Guests were treated to wine and soft drinks, and we simply must thank Kelly, our chef, for the magnificent hot and cold buffet. A big thank you also to Emma, Rachel and Anna for all their help.

Massive thanks to everyone who came along to celebrate with us.

Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas from everyone at Beaufort House 🎄🎅🤶💛

On Saturday, Rachel opened the doors of Beaufort House for our Christmas Craft Fair — and what a fantastic success it was! 🎄✨

We had some wonderful craft stalls, including our own, with all proceeds going to the Alzheimer’s Society 💛. Janet sold out of all the dog biscuits we had made, Lucy served teas and coffees with mince pies (which were very popular!), and Debbie ran the raffle again with great success. So far, we’ve raised over £160 for the Alzheimer’s Society!

We’ll continue collecting throughout the week, and don’t forget Elf Day on Friday 🎅. Beautiful Alzheimer’s flower pins are also available for just £2 at reception.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, and especially to Rachel and Julie for arranging the event, Debbie and Lucy for their hard work, and all the staff on duty.

We held our Remembrance service at Beaufort House yesterday, giving our residents the opportunity to place a poppy cross in our Remembrance Garden. The service began with Holy Communion and ended in the garden, where everyone took a quiet moment to reflect.

We are very grateful to our vicar, Steve Bennett, for fitting us into his busy schedule, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank him. 🌸

We’ve also been busy practising our dog biscuit making for our Christmas craft sale on Saturday 29th November.

Please feel free to come along — we’d love to see you there! 🎄🧡

Our Menu focus meeting was very successful. The group met with Natasha to look through the winter menus. They chatted about things they all liked and what other residents had asked for on the menu and bits that could be taken off. Even things like how they like their chicken to be cut up on the plate. They all agreed to try the new four week menu for a month, then regroup with their views and others. 🥦🥕🥗.

We also had a trial with armchair keepfit, which everyone who joined in enjoyed. So we will add that to our activities scheduled weekly💪👏

On Thursday, we took some ladies out for a trip on our mini bus. Which was very well attended. We had a lot off chatting and remembering a few different places we travelled through, lots of people watching and loving all the dogs that walked by while we were all enjoying a nice cuppa.

It was a very special trip to see the Christmas lights.

A family member asked Rachel if she could take her and her mum, who is 93, to see the Christmas displays at Saunders Garden Centre — and of course, we made it happen. They spent precious time together, taking it all in and making lovely memories.

We finished the trip with a nice cup of tea and a slice of Battenberg cake — a firm favourite!

On another visit, one of our residents said seeing all the Christmas lights made her feel like a child again. “I’m 92 years old, and I don’t ever want to grow up around this time of year,” she said.

Moments like these remind us how meaningful quality time can be — memories that truly last a lifetime.

Halloween at Beaufort House!

We had a fantastic time carving pumpkins and celebrating together. It was wonderful to have families join in the fun and make it a day to remember.

Another great week last week at Beaufort House 🏠

We had some of our resident's favourite singer Nigel, who everyone was singing and swaying along to the music.

We did some leaf art, which came out really successfully. We chose hedgehogs.
We had a one to one trip with a very special lady who loves all the lights and decorations for Christmas. We took our time looking around the garden centre and then finished off with a nice cup of tea.

We also took our mini bus out with a group of residents who were interested in going to Weston-super-Mare along the coastal road. We had a really good chat about everything we saw. One gentleman was bought up in Weston-super-Mare so very knowledgeable. On our return journey, we stopped by the seafront for a cuppa and chocolate treat. Then, we came back to Burnham via the countryside, ending up in Berrow, which was enjoyed by all.
