Towans Residential Care Home The Towans is a family owned Residential Care Home for the Elderly in Burnham on Sea, Somerset. Located on the coast, many of our rooms have lovely sea views.

We aim to provide the very best Residential care possible, in a comfortable safe and homely environment. Please look around our website and if you would like to know more, please ring our manager or deputy manager on 01278 782642 for more information. Our managers are usually available during normal office hours and will be happy to discuss your needs with you. We understand that if you have not seen a Residential Home before and you find you need to look for one, it can be quite a daunting task. They will help you with any questions about The Towans or Elderly Care in general so you can look for a home for yourself or a loved one who can no longer cope at home or wants the security and company that a Residential Care Home can give, with a bit more confidence. They will also be very happy to explain our service at The Towans and help with any questions you may have without obligation.

🌙 Night Care Assistant

At The Towans, we provide high-quality residential care in a warm, family-focused environment. We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Night Care Assistant to join our friendly team.

Night shifts are about more than supervision — they are about reassurance, dignity, and ensuring our residents feel safe and supported throughout the night.

About the Role

As a Night Care Assistant, you will:
• Support residents with personal care and comfort
• Complete regular wellbeing checks
• Assist with repositioning where required
• Maintain accurate night records
• Respond promptly and calmly to call bells
• Ensure the home remains safe, clean, and secure overnight
• Provide reassurance to residents who may feel anxious at night

You will work as part of a small, supportive night team.

• Kind, patient, and dependable nature
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure
• Previous care experience desirable but not essential
• A genuine passion for elderly care

Residents have had a lovely visit from two childminders and their little ones.Which the residents loved and then joining in with the exercise trainer we have upskilling our activities coordinators in chair exercises and all participating to the sounds of the 21st century nursery rhymes 😁 It was such a joy to hear laughter and fun throughout the hall ways and the big bright smiles everyone had.
