Wowβ¦ after nearly 8 years, itβs time to close one of the biggest chapters of my life.
Itβs been a while since Iβve posted on here, and a lot has changed over the past few weeks so apologies for being a little inactive.
My time at Calderdale Royal Hospital, where I started back in March 2018, has officially come to an end. Nearly 8 years filled with so many memories, experiences, challenges and friendships that have shaped me both professionally and personally.
Working as an audiologist, especially in paediatrics, has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career. Being able to help children and their families every day reminds you why you chose this profession in the first place. People often ask me why I donβt just focus on private work full-time, but the truth is my heart has always been in the NHS. Sometimes itβs not about the money itβs about making a difference, helping people, and being part of something bigger.
One of the hardest parts of leaving will definitely be the amazing colleagues Iβve worked with over the years. A special mention to Jane, who many of you will recognise from my posts over the years. Weβve shared countless memories, laughs and moments at work and Iβll truly miss working alongside her. And of course a huge thank you to all the other colleagues who made the department feel like a second home.
Now itβs time for a new chapter. Iβm incredibly grateful to have been given a new senior role within the NHS at Airedale Hospital. Iβm excited for this next step in my career and looking forward to meeting and working with my new colleagues.
Because of the extra responsibilities in this new role, my Clear ear bookings will unfortunately be a little more limited. I sincerely apologise for that, but Iβll still do my absolute best to continue helping as many people as possible.
Back to work tomorrow after a short break, ready to begin this new journey ππ»
