ANXIETY: This is a 4-step process many of my clients learn by-heart.

We need to know that anxiety is not a flaw. Railing against anxiety by fighting or pushing the feelings away never helps.

Paradoxically, our suffering subsides when we face our feelings of discomfort and accept that inner tension is an inevitable part of life.

Not that we don't examine our minds and our lives and change what we can, but we stop resisting.

Facing the anxiety will help it pass quicker 💚

You can feel thankful and depleted. Connected and in need of space.

There’s nothing wrong with honouring both. Peace often begins the moment we stop asking ourselves to be less human.

New Year New You 🤔

If you are saying anything at all like this to yourself, telling yourself you are going to be a new person in 2026 then I would really love you to read on!

The thing is, when we talk about these things, more often than not we are focusing on behavioural things like...

I am going to lose weight...

I am going to drink less alcohol...

I am going to eat more healthy food...

I am going to have a cleaner house...

I am going to find a partner...

I am going to do more of x, y and z

And less of a, b and c!

Now we may start off with the best of intentions, and make changes quickly, but they don't often stick and here is why....

Behaviour and what we do, is as a result of how we feel. How we feel comes directly from our thinking. Although we may over ride this with our determination to make changes initially, it isn't often sustainable.

You don't actually need a NEW you! You are absolutely perfect just as you are right now.
If what you want is to make different choices and create more joy in your life, it's not a new you that is needed, it's a new way of seeing things, a new perspective!

What is sustainable and allows us to make huge changes in our lives, is to learn more about how all of this stems from our thoughts.
We can then decide much more easily about how we behave, or what we do as a result of our thinking, we get more choices!

Most people don't realise that we can't actually control our thoughts, so we can't force ourselves to not think about chocolate for example! However, we can react to that thought about chocolate in a number of ways, with very different outcomes...
