In all of our inpatient rooms, there is a whiteboard where the nursing team writes a welcome message when someone first arrives. Sometimes, like this board, family and friends take over to share their own messages for their loved one.

Thankful Thursday 🫶

Thank you so much to Tony and everyone at The Park View pub in Burnley for their ongoing support of Pendleside Hospice.

In December, they held a charity day for us and raised an amazing £1,041, with the support of Blind Tiger Inns who donated towards every pint bought in the pub.

Meet the Team Tuesday 💛

Louisa Mayor – Head of Income Generation

Louisa leads our Income Generation team, helping to raise over £5 million per year that allows Pendleside Hospice to provide specialist care across our community. She guides a dedicated team who work across fundraising, retail and lottery to ensure patients and their families receive compassionate, high-quality care when they need it most.

Having grown up in the local area, Louisa is passionate about ensuring the long-term future of Hospice care in our community.

She believes wholeheartedly in our legacy campaign and the vital role Gifts in Wills play in funding compassionate care for local patients and their families which is why she has written her own Will through our Free Will Scheme. For her, it was a meaningful and practical way to support the Hospice.

Louisa said: “Having put it off for years, thinking it would be complicated and expensive I finally reached out. I encourage anyone wishing to write a Will to get in touch, it’s such an easy and simple process, and it gives you real peace of mind knowing your wishes are taken care of and your loved ones are provided for, all whilst supporting the Hospice."

We are looking for a dedicated and forward-thinking Healthcare Professional (NMC or HCPC registered) to join our Quality Team, following an upcoming retirement.

You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of governance, compliance and continuous improvement, ensuring we continue to deliver safe, effective and compassionate care across all hospice services. Strong leadership, analytical skills and a passion for quality are essential.
