We were delighted to receive this lovely letter from the Burnley Mayoress’s Committee, thanking us for contributing a raffle prize to the NARaZUKE Fashion Show at Burnley College all in aid of two incredible local causes: Pendleside Hospice and 352 Burnley Squadron - Royal Air Force Air Cadets.

With the fantastic support of so many local businesses and individuals, an amazing £4,930 was raised on the night!

It’s always a privilege to support events that make a real difference to the people and organisations around us. Thank you to the Mayoress’s Fundraising Committee for involving us and well done to everyone who helped make the event such a success.

Did you know? Gravestones were introduced by the Romans 💭

The first gravestones recorded in Britain were found close to Roman military forts and Roman / British settlements.

Back then, gravestones were commonly used for women and children, as Roman soldiers were not legally allowed to marry they used gravestones to legitimise their relationships.

Once the Roman control ended in Britain in the 15th century gravestones were not widely used until they became popular again in the modern area.
