Caroline’s journey into soul work began in her teens, shaped by loss, love, and the courage to face life’s hardest truths. When her uncle died by su***de in 1995, it was the first time she saw her father — a musician — cry. The grief silenced his music, and from that moment, Caroline understood how deeply sorrow can touch a family’s rhythm.
Just a few years later, at nineteen, Caroline found her grandmother after she had taken her own life. That experience changed her forever — not only as the first time she encountered death up close, but as the moment she realised that love does not end with the body.
From that day, she felt called to help others find peace, meaning, and connection beyond loss.
Over the next twenty-five years, Caroline’s path unfolded through many forms of care — as a funeral director, death doula, celebrant, and teacher.
She now trains others in wedding and funeral celebrancy and death doula practice across Scotland, helping them serve with empathy, authenticity, and reverence for all faiths and none.
Rooted in the Thích Nhất Hạnh tradition of mindfulness, and informed by her training with CAMHS, Caroline's work honours the full circle of life — from the wisdom of the young to the stories of the old.
Through her talks, coaching, and community gatherings, she helps people embrace their own authenticity and see that death, too, can be met with peace and love.
As she often says:
“My soul’s work is to take the sting out of death — so love can speak again.”
