🎞️MARCH RECAP.

Another solid month here at Knot Again Chartered Physiotherapy💪🏼

First event of the year, Liverpool half marathon boxed off🏃🏼‍♂️✅

Plenty of rugby with trips to Cass, Hull KR and Toulouse with 🏉 and CL nights under the lights with ⚽️🛫

We finished the month off with a little trip to the capital for some CPD 🤓

Time to lock in for another big month, continuing to grow and get better with everything we do. Massive thank you as always for all your continued support, we look forwards to working with you in the future💪🏼

📝 SUBJECT ASSESSMENT.

Arguably the most important part of your physiotherapy session. The subject assessment on your initial consultation allows me to delve deeper into the mechanism of your injury, the type of pain you’re experiencing and the severity.

However, it never fails to give me a laugh when you answer (typically the men👀) the ‘if you had to give me a score of 1-10, how bad is your pain?’ question😅😂 (volume on🔊).

Struggling with chronic knee pain? Consistently swelling post exercise? Struggling with range of movement or stiffness? Suffer with chronic joint pain?

Have you tried acupuncture?🤷🏼‍♂️

By adding the external stimulus of the acupuncture needles, this will improve blood flow and lymphatic circulation which will regulate the bodies inflammatory response giving us a window of opportunity to get you moving and back to your best💪🏼

From Monday 6th April, there will be a small £5 increase to all of our treatments here at Knot Again Chartered Physiotherapy.

It is something we haven’t done here at clinic for the last 2 years, so we thank you for your understanding and continued support🫶🏼

After numerous requests recently, we have also now added 90 minute sessions to our services to allow you to optimise your full body massage session💆🏼‍♂️💆🏽‍♀️

🏃🏼‍♂️Liverpool Half Marathon✅

1:29:52. Wet, Hilly, Disgusting. My first ever event, first ever half marathon. Absolutely buzzing with that😍

My New Year’s resolution was to do a sub 1:40 1/2. I was aiming for Manchester at the end of May but managed to squeeze this one in today. Ridiculously happy and proud of myself but back to the drawing board to get quicker over the next 11 weeks🏃🏼‍♂️💨

Special mention to the support crew today, totally unexpected but appreciated massively as always🫶🏼 it certainly was a terrible day to be some tarmac 😂

Well done to everyone that ran, you should be proud of yourselves.

As we draw the curtains on February, we reflect on another big month here at Knot Again Chartered Physiotherapy💪🏼

We started a new position and had the privilege of travelling places like Workington, Warrington and Catalan🏉

We ate well, hydrated well and put some miles in our legs getting El a 5K PB along the way🏃🏼‍♂️💨

We celebrated two big birthdays! One big lad turned 4 (going on 14👦🏼) and the other big lad turned 6 🐶🥳 (make sure you swipe to see Barney➡️)

Grateful for everything and everyone around us. Blessed to do what we do on the daily and consistently treat you amazing people - we always appreciate you.

💪🏼Strength training.

As the marathon prep continues and following on from my gait analysis post, I have added my 4 favourite running specific strengthening exercises🏃🏼‍♂️💨

1. Soleus raises
2. Banded TFL drives
3. Side plank hip abduction
4. Long lever, bent knee crab walks

Following research from Collings et al (2023) and working within the top two tiers, body weight side planks target 100% of glutes medius whilst banded side steps under fatigue targets 65%.

All strength training, backed by research. Feel free to adapt them into your lower limb sessions to maximise your performance💪🏼🤩

I am absolutely buzzing to announce that I have been given the opportunity to be the first team match day physiotherapist for for the upcoming 2026 season🏉

Really grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to get going this Friday night away to Workington for the 3rd round of the challenge cup💪🏼🏆

Our detailed performance package will test all of your main peripheral joints for muscular strength and imbalances. Your dominant side compare to your non-dominant side. Our elite knowledge having the ability to correct your imbalances, tailored specifically to you, whilst comparing your results to normative data and backed by research🧑🏼‍💻🤓

Muscle imbalances alter joint biomechanics which significantly increases injury risk by placing excessive stress on joints, tendons, and muscles.
