Burscough’s Newest Nail Salon 💅

Last week, our WISH Activity Team turned our lovely orangery into a nail salon for the afternoon! Complete with all the colours you could want and even a snack trolley to keep our ladies happy during their pamper sessions 🥰

Cosy Indoor Fun 🥰

With the nights and weather drawing in, now is the perfect time for our interactive projector activities! All our residents can participate with this fantastic piece of kit as it can be projected on to any surface, even onto beds, so no one misses out on the fun ❤️

Here are our lovely ladies upstairs on our Red Admiral unit having fun together with our WISH Activity Team ⭐️

🎄 CHRISTMAS BINGO - MON 8th DECEMBER🎄

Write it down in your diaries, folks! Stocks Hall Burscough’s annual Christmas Bingo is back on Monday 8th December at The Stanley Club, Burscough 📆❤️

Doors will open at 6:30 and eyes down at 7:45pm til late. All are welcome, including well behaved and quiet children (but please be aware it is a late night!). There will also be a raffle with fabulous prizes on offer too. Coffee, tea and cake will on sale at the interval as usual 🥰

*SEATS CANNOT BE RESERVED - PLEASE COME DOWN EARLY TO SECURE YOUR PLACES (IT'S A FULL HOUSE 😉)

Always Amazing Alan 🎶🎸

Last week we had another lovely session with everyone’s favourite Alan from Music in Mind, entertaining our ladies, gents, families and staff on our Peacock unit ❤️

Everyone was singing, clapping and tapping their feet to the sound and rhythms brought to us by Alan and his guitar - such a lovely afternoon 🥰

Winter Garden Prep 🌱🍂

On Thursday WISH Activity Team Lead Colette and some of our ladies did some gardening together. Sheila and Margaret planted some spring bulbs in to pots which are now in the green house safe and sound. Sheila and Colette then went to the garden to have a look around. Sheila gave her expert opinion on the plants and what we need to do with them for the winter ❄️

We can’t wait to see what blooms in spring! ❤️

We Will Remember Them ❤️

We had a lovely afternoon last week with our ladies and gents, getting ready for Remembrance Day at the weekend 🥰

WISH Activity Team members Colette and Cara took our lovely ladies Patsy and Ann over to the activity cabin to do some poppy arts and crafts. Together they created a wreath to hang up in the main entrance and then painted some paper plate poppies. 🎨

Colette said, “We enjoyed tea, biscuits, yogurt and cake while we got artistic and listened to some of our favourite singers on the TV too!”☺️

Halloween Celebrations! 🎃👻✨

What a wonderfully spooky day we had for Halloween this year. Our staff went above and beyond for our ladies and gents by getting all dressed up in the Halloween spirit, to making every part of their day special, including the special spooky menu - thanks Chef Mel & co 🥰

We had a ‘Trick or Treat’ box for our residents to pull out sweet treats... if they dared and a costume competition which our lovely Louise won! 🏆

Such a fantastic day, thank you to all those who got involved and helped to make this day special ❤️

Musical Memories Session! 🎶🌈

On Monday at Stocks Hall Burscough, Hannah from Musical Memories came to entertain our ladies and gents on our Red Admiral unit 🦋

Using a variety of props and singing to all our favourite songs, we all joined in. We love our music on Red Admiral so we had a fantastic afternoon 🥰

Although we are nine months into 2025, September always feels like a chance of new beginnings before we head into the final quarter of the year. This month has seen us change to more autumnal activities as the summer weather slowly leaves and cold but cosy evenings are ahead of us.

Piggies Bringing Joy to Our Residents 🐹❤️

Charlie and Billy, our fluffy little guinea pigs at the home, made an appearance on Peacock Unit this week . Our ladies and gents love to see them and enjoy watching their antics. Ann and Mary enjoyed them being on the bed and letting them have a play. They were hiding behind Ann's teddies on the bed much to Ann's amusement! 🥰
