IG Fire Safety Launch New Firefighting Diploma Qualification

We are proud to announce the launch of the Level 4 Diploma in Tactical Firefighting Instruction in conjunction with ABBE and Birmingham City University. The Diploma is the highest level qualification currently available in the UK in the teaching of operational firefighting tactics and live fire training.
The Diploma is based upon the works of IG Founder Ben Walker and our international partner and world’s leading Instructor Shan Raffel and the comprehensive topics covered by their Compartment Firefighting textbook series.
Students attend a 2 week training course which is heavily weighted to all aspects of designing, leading, assessing live fire training for frontline firefighting, including tactical selections, decision making and increasing risk literacy of SCBA Firefighters dealing with structure fires of all types.
Subsequently, a 12-18 month developmental portfolio is undertaken, including on-site visits to assess students teaching Firefighters from their own organisation/fire service, evaluation of their recommendations to improve operational performance and efficacy and performance analysis takes place.
Successful students will then attain the highest level, globally recognised, specialist qualification in tactical firefighting, incorporating all previous derivations known as Compartment Fire Behaviour Training (CFBT), Tactical Ventilation Training and PPV Instruction.

Great session today focusing on ventilation - the correct procedures and tactics to employ in live fire situations as well as looking at the consequences when incorrect decisions are made - all within the excellent CFBT-Thailand facility.

It's been a great first day on the International Tactical Firefighting Instruction course here in Thailand in partnership with CFBT-Thailand. Great enthusiasm, focus and attention from the course attendees with classroom activity as well as practical demonstrations. Next we shift focus to hose nozzle techniques, door opening techniques and stair descending/ascending exercises, followed by an attack exercise in the right angled container.

We're delighted to announce that we will be making our inaugural trip to Bangkok next week to deliver our world class training to Firefighters in SE Asia, in conjunction with DDFire Safety Bangkok, delivered to candidates from Japan, Nepal and Thailand. A key outcome will be that those who attend the course will return home to implement effective live fire training programmes and structural firefighting exercises in their respective nations.
