Your core isn’t built by crunches 👀

A lot of back pain clients will often come in to clinic and state “I know I just need to strengthen my core to help my pain” and then proceed to ask which crunches they should do…

The thing is, the body works AS A WHOLE.

And your “core” isn’t just your abs - it’s a system of muscles that stabilise your spine and transfer force through your whole body.

It’s working every time you squat, pull, deadlift, lunge, or press overhead for example.

500 ab crunches?
Not functional.

But learning to brace under load, breathe efficiently, and control movement through your trunk - that’s how you build a resilient core.

3 things that might be slowing your injury recovery ❤️‍🩹

Sometimes it’s not the injury itself that’s holding you back - it’s what’s happening around it.

If your recovery feels stuck, these are three common reasons why that could be👇

1️⃣ You’re under-loading
Avoiding movement can actually delay healing. Your body needs progressive loading to rebuild strength and resilience.

2️⃣ Poor sleep & high stress
Your body repairs during rest - not during late-night scrolling or long stress cycles. Sleep and nervous system recovery are essential for successful rehab.

3️⃣ You’re chasing quick fixes
Massage guns, tape, and all the TikTok gadgets… they might give temporary relief but without structured strength work, progress won’t last.

💡 Recovery isn’t necessarily about doing more, it’s about doing the right things - consistently.

Is it really your posture causing your pain?👇

We hear this so much in clinic - “I know I’ve got bad posture, that’s why my back hurts.”

The truth is, there is no single ‘perfect’ posture - your spine loves variety, not rigidity.
It’s those prolonged static positions it doesn’t appreciate.

Pain is influenced by so many factors: load, stress, sleep, movement, recovery, mindset… not just how straight you sit.

Instead of chasing perfect alignment, focus on:
✅ Moving more often
✅ Getting stronger
✅ Building tolerance to different positions

Your body adapts beautifully when you give it the chance.

🔹 Posture isn’t the problem - lack of movement is.
