At Modwena Orthodontics, payment options are discussed with our Treatment Coordinator after your specialist assessment, once we know what your plan actually involves. That way you’re not guessing, and you’re not trying to match your budget to a treatment you haven’t properly explored yet.

Options can include:
💳 Tabeo finance, including 18 months at 0% interest if accepted
📅 Longer terms may be available at interest
🧾 An in-house option of three staged payments, spaced over 12 months

A simple braces care kit can make the day-to-day feel much easier, especially for school or work. Here’s what we recommend keeping in a small pouch:

🪥 travel toothbrush + toothpaste
🦷 interdental brushes
✨ orthodontic wax
💧 water or a mini mouth rinse
🪞 small mirror (optional, but genuinely handy)

We are seeking a reliable and organised individual to join our busy, friendly Specialist Orthodontic practice as a Dental Receptionist/Decontamination Assistant.
This dual role involves providing excellent front-of-house service to patients while ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, sterilisation, and infection control within the practice.

Reception Duties:
• Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner
• Manage appointment bookings and cancellations
• Answer phone calls and respond to patient enquiries
• Maintain accurate patient records using dental software systems
• Handle payments and receipts
• Liaise with clinicians regarding scheduling and patient needs
• Ensure the reception area is clean and welcoming

Decontamination Duties:
• Clean, disinfect, and sterilise dental instruments following HTM 01-05 guidelines
• Operate and maintain decontamination equipment (e.g., autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners)
• Maintain accurate sterilisation and decontamination records
• Ensure all clinical areas meet infection control standards
• Dispose of clinical waste safely and correctly
• Stock and organise clinical materials and supplies

Skills & Requirements:
• Previous experience in a dental or healthcare setting (preferred but not essential)
• Knowledge of infection control and cross-contamination procedures (preferred but not essential)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
• Basic IT skills (experience with dental software is an advantage)
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently
• High attention to detail and hygiene standards

Qualifications:
• Training will be provided for the right candidate

Hayley is one of those familiar, reassuring faces that helps patients (and parents) feel instantly at ease 😊

She started dental nursing in 1996 and qualified in 1998, then went on to complete her radiography qualification in 2003. Hayley followed our Principal, Richard, to Modwena in 2009 after working alongside him for many years, and later qualified as an Orthodontic Therapist in 2011 at Manchester University Dental Hospital.

Since then, Hayley has treated many patients and loves building real relationships throughout the journey. She’s incredibly proud of the results we achieve together, and it shows in the care she brings to every appointment.

Outside the practice, Hayley’s an early-morning gym regular with a passion for nutrition and exercise, and she loves time with family and friends, whether that’s campervan trips or a bit of Ibiza fun ✨

Here’s what to do first:

1. Check the usual places
Kitchen roll, napkins, lunch bags, hoodie pockets, bedside tables, school bags. Retainers love to hide in the most annoying places.

2. If it’s broken, stop wearing it
A cracked or warped retainer can rub and may not sit correctly, which can cause more problems.

3. Call us as soon as you can
Retainers help keep teeth stable, so the sooner we can advise you, the better.

✅ rinse after wearing
✅ brush gently with a soft brush
✅ avoid hot water
✅ store in a case, every time
