🌱 World Mental Health Day 🌱
I was very fortunate enough to grow up in South Africa, being surrounded by nature, walking around barefoot, hands full of soil whilst making mud cakes 🇿🇦
Fast forward to the Covid Pandemic and me living in the UK, I missed that connection to nature and felt myself overwhelmed and anxious in a global pandemic.
I turned to my houseplants…watering, propagating, repotting and slowly but surely adding more plants to my collection. I found plants and plant care therapeutic, relaxing and my way to switch off.
That’s how was born.
If you ever feel overwhelmed, try and spend a little time in nature.
Touching a silky smooth leaf, smelling earthy soil, hearing a trickle of water and having a purpose to look after another living thing brings huge amounts of benefits to our physical and mental wellbeing.
Another thing I’ve learnt….speak to others, find your tribe and share your feelings. You never know what you might have in common with others if you don’t speak up. You never know, you may just meet your new best pal.
