The Self Centre A friendly wellbeing centre for mind, body and spirit in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. Everyone welcome! Edmunds, in Suffolk. We also offer ante and post natal yoga.

Yoga, Pilates, Reformer, Meditation, Tai Chi, Sound Baths, Holistic Therapies, Veggie Cafe. The Self Centre is a little haven on the outskirts of Bury St. As well as running over 30 classes a week in Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi and Meditation, we hold regular special events such as sound baths and women's circles. We also offer specialist yoga classes for those living with Cancer, Long Covid, mobility issues, pre-diabetes, or early stage cardiac conditions. There is a wonderful team of Complimentary Therapists and Counsellors based in the centre offering services to support you on a physical, emotional, mental or spiritual basis. Their treatments range from Aromatherapy and Sports Massage to Homeopathy, Reflexology, Reiki, Bowen, Lymphatic Drainage, NHS Physiotherapy, Psychotherapy, Hypnotherapy, Nutrition Specialists, Osteopathy, and Acupuncture. Our list of therapists is constantly changing ad growing so if yo can't see what you are looking for on our website give us a call and let us help. During the school year we have several mother and child classes including Jo Jingles singing and movement, and Zenmuma Baby yoga. The NCT, Daisy Birthing Foundation and Mini First Aid run regular courses at the centre to offer complete support for your pregnancy journey. Our cafe serves hot and cold drinks, smoothies, snacks, rolls, wraps, salads and soup, all made fresh to your order. We also sell homemade cakes, brownies and flapjacks. Lunches are served between 11 and 2pm, and can be pre-ordered to eat in or takeaway. Lastly, our therapy rooms are available to hire for courses, small meetings or training days. We just wanted to say a huge thank you to all that came to our Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday to help raise money for Cancer Awareness and Research. Huge thanks is also in order for those who donated cakes, biscuits and books❤️

This wonderful event is hosted by our amazing Yoga for those living with Cancer class who always inspire our community to show up for one another. They are the best❤️🧘🏽‍♀️✨

The Self Centre is on the lookout for a self-employed handy person to help keep our peaceful place looking its best (and our shelves level).

If you’re the kind of person who takes pride in a job well done and enjoys a good “that’ll do nicely” moment, we’d love to have you on board.

Join yoga teacher Dawn of Pathway Yoga for an afternoon of exploring Jivamukti yoga on Saturday 1/11/25 at 2-4pm.🧘🏽‍♀️❤️

We tend to hold onto every day stresses and emotions and these can be held within our hips. Working on opening through the hips can therefore help to release some of those feelings making us feel lighter and less stressed.

Poses which involve a rotation of the spine, twisting poses, are extremely beneficial to all of our internal organs and help us detox and cleanse our inner being. As we twist we squeeze all of our internal organs, our liver, pancreas, kidneys, intestines, stomach and as we release the twist fresh blood and energy rushes towards these organs bringing a renewed energy which cleanses them and makes them work more efficiently.

The asanas (poses) within the class will be supported by chanting, breath awareness, flowing vinyasa sequences, alignment exploration, use of props, hands-on assistance, relaxation and meditation.
