Ledum: this is the quintessential remedy for puncture wounds! Particularly useful this time of year when we’re walking around with bare feet or doing cartwheels at the beach and getting poked with something unexpected. This remedy is also well known for black eyes - when anything comes into contact with the eye socket including a ball or an elbow (or a fist)! Ledum is also helpful for insect bites where the wound feels cold (unike APIS where the area is hot to the touch). You can also try Ledum where Apis fails to work in situations of insect bites. This is also a great remedy for larger bruises to be taken alongside arnica - larger bruises on the back or thighs or from falls that affect the buttocks.
