We've had a fantastic evening with Bury VCFA at their networking and funding event.

We were delighted to receive a Β£70 prize towards our everyday running costs, a helpful boost that supports the work we do. But even more valuable were the conversations we had with fellow local non-profit organisations who are all making a real difference in our community.

It’s always inspiring to connect with others who share a commitment to positive change in our town. Looking forward to building on these new connections and continuing to support one another.

The lovely James has written another blog post for our website. This time he is reflecting on the impact of Spring on his connection with nature and mood, bringing nature indoors, birdwatching, and noticing nature in built up urban environments.

Thanks to funding from an NHS Greater Manchester Mental Wellbeing Grant, we are really pleased to be able to provide a free group offering this Spring, running fortnightly from 30th March to 22nd June 2026.
Our Learn, Connect and Grow programme will involve 7 sessions of psychoeducation for people living with a long term neurological condition. We will be covering information and skills for managing cognition, mood, relationships and communication. All sessions will begin with a nature based mindfulness exercise.
As a non-profit organisation, our aim is to offer these sessions to people without existing access to neuropsychological support, whether due to long NHS wait times or lack of funding.
Places are limited to 12 people only, and attendees would need to be able to commit to all 7 sessions.
Please do get in touch if you or someone you know would be interested in attending, at neuroinnature@proton.me

🌿 Calling all writers, storytellers & research lovers 🌿

We’re looking for volunteers to support Neuro In Nature, our social enterprise delivering nature based therapy groups for people living with long term neurological conditions.

As our work grows, we’d love some help bringing our impact to life through both research and less formal communication. We’re currently seeking volunteers who can support us with:

✍️ Writing up findings and insights from our nature-based therapy groups for a potential research publication.
πŸ“° Creating a quarterly newsletter for our community and supporters.
πŸ’» Contributing blog posts that explore nature, neuropsychology, mental health and lived experience.

This is a great opportunity if you enjoy:
Developing literature reviews and research papers to disseminate knowledge.
Purpose driven writing with real social impact.
Being part of a values led, nature connected organisation.

You don’t need to be an expert in anything, just curious, thoughtful, and aligned with our mission 🌱 Support, guidance and collaboration will be part of the journey.

If this sounds like you (or someone you know), we’d love to hear from you.

We have had a fantastic afternoon around the lido and in the woodland at Clarence Park, Bury.

A group of members of the North West spinal cord injury group joined us for 2 hours of adapted forest bathing. Their willingness to try nature based mindfulness and to overcome the uneven terrain was wonderful to see.

The session included connecting with our senses, noticing the impact of sights and sounds in nature on our nervous system, and reflecting on metaphors for resilience and community in nature around us.

Providing an accessible space for people to access nature based therapies is always our aim, and this session gave us lots to reflect and build on. Really grateful to this group.

Today we returned from our summer break for our first Nature Connection session in a while, and it had a very autumnal feel! πŸπŸ‚

With high winds forecast we opted for an indoor session, but we were able to engage in a nature mindfulness practice through the panoramic windows onto the lido. we spent time noticing the trees dancing in the wind and the ripple of rain on the water.

This was followed by a grounding exercise using natural materials, a 'mystery bag' game, and some nature based crafts. they each token away an autumn themed bookmark, postcard and seeded pencil.

Our attendees told us they enjoyed the activities, felt relaxed and more present, and got a sense of social connection from the hot drinks, cakes and chit- chat over postcard making.

We finished with the poem "If I Had My Life To Live Over" by Nadine Stair.

Plans are under way to shape up our autum/winter offering. More details coming soon.

Great to be back doing these sessions. 😊🍁🌳
