We wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended Communication Nation on Saturday. We had an amazing night and raised £2400.09 for our work. The funds went to Bury People First which is a local charity. We will use this to continue to develop awareness of the importance of all forms of communication for people with learning disabilities and autism. Special thanks to Chris Jacques and the bands: Vaguely Sane, Sad Sells and Heston-Machine. Will share more photos but here's a snapshot.

Rochdale People First are working with Speech and Language Therapist, Alison Matthews, to hold a 2 day Signalong workshop for people with learning disabilities and the people who support them.

Please come to both workshops to complete the course.

- Learn about Signalong
- Talk about being a self-advocate and what we mean by self-advocacy
- Learn some signs about self-advocacy and your rights

With Signalong we are using key word signing, so we sign the main concepts rather than everything. We decided to learn the signs for a song which is being played at our Communication Nation event on 18th October.
