Keeping Indoor Cats Happy and Safe: Enrichment Tips Every Cat Owner Should Know | 🐱💜

For many cat parents, choosing to keep their feline friends indoors feels like the safest option. Indoor living protects cats from busy roads, potential predators, toxins, and other outdoor dangers. However, while this lifestyle keeps them physically safe, it can also pose challenges to their mental and emotional well-being.

MEET OUR TEAM | 💜

Introducing... Mia 💭

What’s your job role at Legacy Pets?:
I am the Pet Bereavement Counsellor for Legacy Pets

What would a standard day at Legacy Pets for you entail?
A standard day for me would be engaging with our bereavement support group, talking to people on our helpline and writing blog posts for our website.

What's your favourite animal?
Other than my cat Winnie, I’d probably say a sloth, I think they are hilarious.

What do you think sets Legacy Pets apart from similar businesses?
I think our collective love and care for pets, our focus on the impacts of the loss of pets and our genuine passion to help anyone using our services sets us apart, we aren’t just there for people during their loss, but also before and after for however long they need us.

Earliest or nicest pet memory?
The day I got my baby Winnie and instantly fell in love, she’s a blue British Shorthair and she’s my little best friend, as everyone in our support group know!

If you could have any animal as a sidekick for a day, which one would you choose and why?
I’d probably say a parrot so they could fly away, have a nosy and tell me what they have seen/heard.

What’s the most rewarding thing about your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is being able to support grieving families through one of the hardest times, being able to validate their emotions and providing them with a safe space to process their grief. I also really love writing our blogs and hearing positive feedback that people have enjoyed them and taken something from them to help with their grief.

International Self-Care Day | 🛀💜

Today is International Self-Care Day and our wonderful in-house Pet Bereavement Counsellor, Mia, has written yet another helpful blog with guidance on how practicing self-care can help navigate your way through grief.

When we hear the phrase "self-care" we automatically think of a spa day or pamper session. However, there are so many different ways to care for yourself, including journalling, reading, talking to others and even simply getting enough sleep.
