🎄✨ What a fantastic, jam-packed afternoon we’ve had today!

We started with the delightful children from Holcombe Brook Nursery and Jo Jingles, who brightened our day with cheerful songs, fun instruments, and plenty of bubbles! The children were thrilled to receive an early Christmas gift after their visit as a special thank you. 🫧🎶

Then we were treated to the lovely Suzy from Melodies and Memories , who filled the room with beautiful singing of Christmas classics for everyone to sing along to, followed by some gentle seated exercises as they sang away. 🎤🎄💪

It’s safe to say everyone will sleep well tonight after all the fun! 😄💤

🎄✨ East Lancashire Bicentenary Christmas Fair ✨🎄

What an incredible day we had yesterday at our Christmas Fair, raising a fantastic £2,800 for the EL Festival 2026!

With a wonderful variety of stalls, fabulous live entertainment from the Bury Choral Society Choir and Tottington Brass Band, Santa and his Elf in the Grotto, plus delicious food and refreshments — including warming turkey & stuffing rolls, mulled wine, and hot chocolate with all the trimmings — there truly was something for everyone!
The children’s activities, balloons and face painting kept little ones smiling all day, and our Grand Raffle with over 50 amazing prizes was a huge hit! 🎁

A massive thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event, and an extra-special shout-out to all our incredible volunteers. We couldn’t have done it without you! 🙌

🎶✨ Festive Afternoon with The Ukulele Band of Bury! ✨🎶

The Ukulele Band of Bury joined us this afternoon in the lounge, treating everyone to a wonderful variety of songs — including plenty of Christmas favourites to get us all into the festive spirit! 🎄🎵

The ladies and gents loved joining in with their tambourines and singing along, filling the room with music and Christmas cheer. ❤️

A big thank you to the group for such an uplifting and enjoyable performance! 🎄✨

🎄 A Festive Visit from Bury RUFC U13s! 🎄

We were delighted to welcome the Bury RUFC U13s on Saturday for a lovely morning filled with Christmas songs, friendly chit-chat, and plenty of festive cheer. The team also brought along generous gifts for everyone to enjoy, which made the visit even more special. ✨

The U13s were recently awarded a generous grant from the ELMC to help purchase their new playing kits (as pictured). Feeling grateful for this support, the team wanted to give something back to the community. They reached out to us here at Hewlett Court to visit in the run-up to Christmas and show their appreciation — and what a wonderful visit it was!

🎵 Honey Badgers Band 🎶

The ladies and gents were greeted by the Honey Badgers Band this morning. Everyone enjoyed a good old singalong filled with smiles and plenty of toe-tapping fun. 🎤💛

Maggie the Therapy Dog and owner Gill came from Therapy Dogs Nationwide this morning — and brought many smiles! 🐶💛

Afterwards, everyone enjoyed some refreshments, a quiz, and a lively game of Play Your Cards Right! 🎉

Well done to Jimmy, who won himself a free game of bingo next week! 👏🏻👏🏻
