Hewlett Court was opened in 1979 as Sheltered Accommodation and belongs to the East Lancashire Masonic Charity [ELMC].

Hewlett Court supports people towards independent living in a safe and caring environment in which catering is provided. Hewlett Court was opened in 1979 as a Masonic Retirement Home for the elderly. The home belongs to the East Lancashire Masonic Charity [ELMC] which has cared for Freemasons’ and their dependants for over a century. The home prides itself on its friendly family atmosphere and everyone is welcome. Hewlett Court is registered with the Local Authority as ‘Sheltered Housing’. It is not a Nursing or Convalescent Home and therefore the home is not permitted to provide nursing care to residents and short stay guests. Becoming a resident at Hewlett Court can be a difficult and momentous decision for both the potential resident and their family. The Management Team fully understands that decision and treats everyone as an individual to ensure that the right decision is made. Before permanent entry is approved applicants must reside in the Home for a trial period of two weeks and then return to their normal accommodation. This is to ensure that they really do want permanent residence, and for their suitability for communal life in the Home. The Home is close to the local amenities; shops, post office and Doctors Surgery. It affords accommodation for a maximum number of 41 people full-time, plus one additional person or couples as a guest[s] on a pre-booked "holiday" basis. Services Available:

Small Shop on Site
Doctor at request (need to be registered locally)
Chiropodist regular visits
Hairdresser regular visits [Ladies and Gentlemen]

🌺 Remembrance Day at Hewlett Court 🌺

This morning, residents and staff at Hewlett Court came together to pay tribute on Remembrance Day.
�At the 11th minute of the 11th hour, on the 11th day of the 11th month, everyone joined in a two-minute silence to honour and remember those who gave their lives for our freedom.

Resident Tom shared a touching speech in tribute to his Brother and the fallen, reminding us all of the courage and sacrifice made by so many.

We will remember them. ❤️

🎉 Happy 50th Birthday, Bev! 🎉

Family, friends, staff, and all the lovely ladies and gents of Hewlett Court gathered in the lounge this afternoon to celebrate Manager, Bev’s 50th birthday! 🥳

We were treated to an amazing performance from the fantastic Fletch, who had everyone singing along and dancing. 🎶

Everyone raised a glass to toast Bev’s special milestone, shared lots of laughs, and presented her with beautiful cake, cards and gifts. 💐🎁

A truly fabulous celebration — here’s to you, Bev! 🥂💖

To celebrate Bonfire Night, the ladies and gents have enjoyed tucking into a comforting meal of traditional corned beef hash with red cabbage, followed by a delicious slice of ginger cake for tea! 🎆💥
