🌟 A Wonderful Day at Kestrel Grove! 🌟

We were delighted to welcome amazing volunteers from UCKG who spent the day bringing joy, care, and companionship to our residents 💖

UCKG is a charitable organisation dedicated to supporting communities through outreach, wellbeing initiatives, and acts of kindness. Their volunteers regularly give their time to help those in need, and we truly felt that generosity here at Kestrel Grove 🙌

Our residents and staff all got involved in a fantastic day of activities:
💅 A relaxing pamper session for some of our residents
🎲 Fun and laughter with a lively group bingo
💬 Meaningful engagement and chats with many of our residents

It was heartwarming to see so many smiles and such positive connections throughout the day 😊

A huge THANK YOU to the UCKG volunteers for your kindness and energy — you made a real difference 💐

What a fantastic start to the day at Kestrel Grove! 🌟

The residents absolutely loved every moment — from the incredible dancers 💃🕺 to the amazing singers 🎤 and all the fabulous outfit changes 👗✨. The energy, talent, and variety made it truly unforgettable!

From ABBA to Elvis, Neil Diamond and so many more 🎶 — the list was almost endless, and every performance was spot on. This is live entertainment at its very best! 🙌

Staff Spotlight: Anusha – Carer 🌟

This month, we are delighted to shine a spotlight on Anusha, a dedicated and compassionate member of our care team at Kestrel Grove. Anusha has been working with us for the past two years, during which she has consistently demonstrated kindness, professionalism, and a genuine passion for supporting our residents.
Originally from Nepal, Anusha now lives in London with her husband and sister.

While she is settled here, she remains very close to her wider family back in Nepal and values those strong family connections.

Anusha is known for her warm personality and positive energy, which brighten both residents’ and colleagues’ days. Outside of work, she enjoys shopping, watching films, and listening to Bollywood music. She is also a big fan of spicy food, something she proudly brings from her cultural background.

At 29 years old, Anusha brings both enthusiasm and experience to her role. Her favourite colours are yellow and white - perhaps reflecting her bright and cheerful nature.

We are very grateful to have Anusha as part of the Kestrel Grove team, and we thank her for all the care and dedication she shows every day.

🐣💛 Such a lovely visit this week at Kestrel Grove! 💛🐣

The wonderful Zeena from Performing Pets brought along the cutest little chicks, and our residents absolutely adored them 😍🐥 Their faces lit up with joy!

We also made sure everyone could share in the moment, with 1-to-1 visits for our bedbound residents 🥰✨

🍀✨ St Patrick’s Day Celebrations at Kestrel Grove ✨🍀

Today we had a fantastic time celebrating Saint Patrick’s Day here at Kestrel Grove! 🇮🇪💚

Residents enjoyed a fun arts & crafts session making paper Irish hats 🎩🍀, getting creative and into the festive spirit. Our wonderful wellbeing team transformed the home with beautiful green decorations, bringing a real taste of Ireland to us all 🌈✨

We were delighted to be joined by live entertainment from Glyn, whose Irish show had everyone smiling and singing along 🎶🎤 with traditional Irish songs that filled the room with joy and nostalgia 💚

There was also a lively quiz for residents 🧠❓, full of laughs, friendly competition, and great memories shared together.

🍀 What is St Patrick’s Day?
St Patrick’s Day is celebrated every year on March 17th in honour of Saint Patrick. It began as a religious feast day but is now a global celebration of Irish culture, filled with music, dancing, food, and lots of green! 🇮🇪

🌸💐 Mother’s Day at Kestrel Grove 💐🌸

Mother’s Day is a special day celebrated around the world to honour and appreciate mothers, grandmothers and the important women who nurture and care for us. The modern celebration has its roots in the early 20th century, when Anna Jarvis campaigned for a day dedicated to recognising the sacrifices mothers make for their families. Today it’s a time for gratitude, reflection and making cherished memories together. 💖

Here at Kestrel Grove, our residents spent the morning reminiscing about how they used to spend Mother’s Day with their families. The conversation naturally led to sharing stories about parents who have sadly passed away. There were so many lovely memories shared, a few tears, and many very special moments as everyone reflected on the love and care their mothers gave them. 💞

We finished the morning with a fun quiz which brought plenty of laughter and friendly competition! 🧠✨

In the afternoon, residents enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea with some delicious sweet treats and plenty of tea and chatter. 🍰☕ The celebrations were made even more special with fabulous live entertainment from the wonderful singer Denise Scott, who was requested by the residents and had everyone smiling and singing along. 🎤🎶

A beautiful day filled with memories, music, laughter and love. 💗

🎶 What a fantastic afternoon at Kestrel Grove today!

Residents were treated to a truly wonderful performance by the incredibly talented tenor Yuri Sabatini. From the moment he began to sing, his powerful, rich voice filled the room and created a warm, uplifting atmosphere that had everyone smiling and tapping along. 🎤✨

Yuri brought charm, energy, and a touch of elegance to the afternoon, performing a beautiful selection that really captivated the audience. Dressed smartly and performing with such passion and confidence, he had residents fully engaged—many singing along and clearly enjoying every moment. 🎼👏

Yuri is an award-winning performer who has appeared at prestigious venues across Europe, delighting audiences with his incredible vocal range and stage presence. He captivated everyone at Castle View with a beautiful programme of classical operatic arias and contemporary crossover pieces from musicals.

It was a delightful musical experience that brightened the day for everyone at Kestrel Grove. Thank you, Yuri, for such an entertaining and memorable performance. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon! 🌟

🎉 Happy at Kestrel Grove! 🎉

Yesterday we took time to celebrate the amazing people who make our home such a special place every single day. 💙 is about recognising the dedication, kindness, and hard work of our teams who go above and beyond to support the people we care for. It’s a chance to pause and say a big thank you to those who bring compassion, positivity, and professionalism to their roles every day. 🙌

Our team enjoyed pizza 🍕 and lots of sweet treats 🍬🍰, and each employee was given a small token of appreciation as a thank you for everything they do.

We’re so proud of our incredible team at Kestrel Grove. Thank you for everything you do for our residents and for each other. 💙

🌈✨ Holi Celebrations at Kestrel Grove ✨🌈

Staff, visitors and residents all came together today to celebrate the vibrant festival of Holi at Kestrel Grove — and what a truly fabulous day it was! 💛💚💙❤️

Holi, known as the Festival of Colours, celebrates the arrival of spring, love, joy and the triumph of good over evil. It’s a time to embrace positivity, togetherness and new beginnings — and that spirit was felt throughout our home today. 🌸🌼

Our celebrations were filled with creativity and fun. Residents enjoyed Holi-themed arts and crafts, exploring bright colours and beautiful designs inspired by this special festival. 🎨🖌️

We were delighted to host a live, interactive dance session with the fantastic Senjuti 💃✨ Residents, staff and visitors joined in traditional dances using colourful scarfs, sticks and bells, creating an atmosphere full of energy, laughter and rhythm. The sound of Bollywood music played throughout the home all day, keeping spirits high and toes tapping! 🎶🕺

In the beautiful sunshine, staff enjoyed playing Holi with vibrant coloured powders, sharing smiles and laughter as clouds of colour filled the air. ☀️🌈

It was wonderful to see everyone embracing the diversity of our community. Some staff dressed in traditional attire, while others wore bright, bold colours to mark the occasion — a true reflection of unity and celebration. ❤️

An absolutely fabulous day enjoyed by all, creating special memories together!

🎨🧁 Edible Arts Fun at Kestrel Grove! 🧁🎨

Our wonderful residents at Kestrel Grove have been getting creative in the sweetest way possible — by decorating delicious cupcakes! 🍰✨

Armed with piping bags, swirls of buttercream icing, and a rainbow of vibrant food colours, everyone turned into a star baker for the day. From bold and bright masterpieces to “extra generous” icing creations (because there’s no such thing as too much buttercream, right? 😄), each cupcake was as unique as its creator.

There were plenty of laughs, a little friendly competition, and maybe just a tiny bit of icing taste-testing along the way… purely for quality control, of course! 😉

It was a fun, hands-on, and wonderfully engaging activity that brought out creativity, sparked conversations, and satisfied our sweet tooth all at once. The best part? Enjoying our beautiful (and very tasty!) creations together. 💕

Well done to all our talented decorators — we think we may have some future Bake Off stars in the making! 🌟🧁
