👮‍♂️🚨 Community Safety at Kestrel Grove 🚨👮‍♀️

We were delighted to welcome a police officer from the London Transport / British Transport Police who kindly came down to Kestrel Grove to spend time with our residents and deliver a truly informative and engaging talk on safety and police life 👏

The session covered personal safety tips, staying aware while travelling, and gave a real behind-the-scenes insight into what it’s like to work as a police officer.

Residents asked lots of thoughtful questions and showed huge interest — it was great to see such positive interaction and open conversation 🤝💬

A big thank you officer Dean for taking the time to connect with our community and help everyone feel more informed, reassured, and empowered. Events like this really strengthen community spirit and trust 💙

Our residents were treated to a spectacular Flamenco dance performance by the beautiful and incredibly talented Juani 🌹🔥

Flamenco is a passionate Spanish dance known for its powerful footwork, graceful arm movements, and expressive storytelling through music and motion 🎶👠 Every stomp, turn, and flourish reflects deep emotion, rhythm, and tradition — and Juani brought it all to life with elegance and fire ❤️

🎶🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 What a brilliant afternoon at Kestrel Grove! 🥰
Our residents enjoyed an amazing Scottish performance by Mike, who looked the part in his traditional kilt 👏✨

We also celebrated a little Burns Night history — honouring Scotland’s national poet Robert Burns, whose birthday is marked with poetry, music, and of course… haggis! 🥩🍽️ Our residents tucked into haggis for dinner and loved every minute.

The afternoon was full of fun, laughter, and Scottish spirit, with Mike having everyone clapping, singing, and smiling away 🎤👏💃
A truly memorable celebration for all!

🥧 Happy National Pie Day! 🥧

Did you know pie has been enjoyed for centuries, dating all the way back to ancient times when early versions were made with simple crusts to protect fillings? Fast-forward to today, and pie is still bringing people together 💛

Here at Kestrel Grove, our staff and residents celebrated in the best way possible — by enjoying homemade, absolutely delicious pies made by our fantastic chef 👩‍🍳✨ From classic apple pie 🍎 to sweet and tangy cherry pie 🍒, every bite was a hit!

✨🐦 That time of the month again… and we were delighted to welcome the lovely Zina from Performing Pets! 🐦✨

This month, we had the pleasure of hosting a few absolutely gorgeous budgies, and they were an absolute joy 💛💙. So well behaved and wonderfully disciplined, they truly captured everyone’s hearts.

To make sure no one missed out, the budgies were taken to all rooms for residents who can’t come out of bed, allowing for lovely 1-to-1 interactions 🥰.

From having photos taken 📸 to enjoying gentle little cuddles, both staff and residents were all smiles throughout the day.

Residents from Kestrel Grove requested a shopping trip, so off we went to Watford Shopping Centre 🛍️✨
We enjoyed browsing the clothes stores, with our residents loving a good mooch around Marks & Spencer 👗👔💙

After that, we treated ourselves to a delicious spot of lunch at Jamaica Blue Coffee Shop ☕🍰, had a little rest, and then it was back to some more retail therapy!

It was so nice to get out and focus on wellbeing 🌿😊

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Oana, Activities Assistant 🌟

Oana has been part of the Kestrel Grove family for over five years and brings warmth, fun, and plenty of energy to everything she does.

As Activities Assistant, her days are always busy (in the best way!), filled with supporting residents, sharing laughs, and making sure everyone feels included and cared for. What she loves most is being there for residents and knowing she’s making a real difference in their lives.

Her favourite activities to run are fun sessions and music, because nothing beats seeing big smiles and happy faces around the room. When it comes to special moments, Oana says there isn’t just one - there are lots of little moments every day that make the job so rewarding.

She’s always happy to adapt activities for residents who prefer one-to-one time or quieter moments, listening carefully to their preferences and tailoring activities to what they enjoy most. In her eyes, what makes Kestrel Grove special is… everything!

Outside of work, Oana loves listening to music, shopping, and spending precious time with her daughter and family. Her favourite colour is black, her favourite food is traditional Romanian dishes, and Romania will always be her favourite country.

Fun fact: if there’s music playing and smiles in the room, chances are Oana is nearby 🎶✨

🍫🥜 No-Bake Baking Fun at Kestrel Grove! 🧁✨

This morning our residents at Kestrel Grove enjoyed a lovely no-bake baking session, making delicious peanut butter cakes 😍
Everyone got involved, using a variety of skills and techniques – from measuring and mixing to shaping and decorating 🙌

The session supported wellbeing and social interaction, with lots of smiles, teamwork, and great conversation over a relaxed morning together 💛🤝

And best of all… the results were absolutely delicious 😋👏
