🎄✨ Christmas Day at Kestrel Grove ✨🎄

What a wonderful day spent celebrating with our amazing residents, dedicated staff, and lovely families ❤️

We enjoyed a delicious Christmas lunch 🍽️😋 followed by special gifts for our residents 🎁🎄. After lunch, everyone gathered to watch The King’s Speech 📺👑, and then settled in for a heart-warming Christmas movie 🎬☕

The fun won’t be stopping there — we will be finishing the day with games, laughter, and plenty of festive cheer 🎲😂🎶

They surprised our residents with a very special visitor this December… a meerkat! 🐵💛

Staff Spotlight: Emilia 🌟

Emilia is our wonderful Head Housekeeper here at Kestrel Grove and has been part of the team for five years. Originally from Romania, she speaks both Romanian and English and brings warmth, dedication, and a calm presence to the home.
What she loves most about working at Kestrel Grove is spending time with the residents and taking part in all the celebrations and special moments, we share together. Emilia is incredibly proud of her hardworking housekeeping team, describing them as the heart of what keeps the home running smoothly.

In her spare time, she enjoys watching Christmas movies and comedies, savouring her favourite Romanian food, and spending time with her family - especially her daughter, who never fails to make her smile. Emilia would love to travel to Hawaii one day, she prefers coffee to tea and is definitely a dog person.

She describes Kestrel Grove as a warm and welcoming home filled with lovely people, and we are so grateful to have her as part of our team.

🕎 Day 5 of Hanukkah at Kestrel Grove 🕯️✨

Our residents at Kestrel Grove have been lighting the Hanukkah candles every day at 4pm, enjoying this special tradition together along with some delicious doughnuts 🍩💙

Today was extra special, as the Rabbi was able to visit and lead the service, sharing the beautiful meaning behind Hanukkah. He explained how Hanukkah celebrates the miracle of the oil, when a small amount of oil that should have lasted just one day burned for eight days, symbolising hope, faith, and light overcoming darkness ✨🕯️

🎄 Christmas is a time for giving 🎁🤍
And what a truly wholesome day it was for everyone involved 💛

Our amazing staff and residents came together to put together food hampers for donation to local charities and foodbanks in Watford 🧺✨

We were warmly greeted by Anthony and Katalina at Wellspring Church Centre, where there is also a foodbank supporting those in need, and by the lovely Emma at Peace Hospice — thank you all for the incredible work you do in the community 🤍

Our Wellbeing Team were joined by John, one of our lovely residents, to help deliver the hampers 🚗💫 Afterward, at John’s request, we stopped for a spot of lunch 🍽️😄 and then enjoyed a trip to Tesco 🛒 — John misses his visits to his local supermarket, so it was the perfect way to end the day.

A very happy John, and the smiles truly spoke for themselves 🥰

✨🎶 An Afternoon of Pure Magic at Kestrel Grove 🎶✨

Residents at Kestrel Grove were treated to an unforgettable experience as the incredible opera singer Yuri Sabatani filled the room with his breathtaking voice. From the very first note, you could feel the emotion soar — each aria told a story, each melody wrapped hearts in joy and wonder. 🎭❤️

There were smiles, goosebumps, and even a few happy tears as Yuri’s powerful yet tender performance transported everyone through the beauty of opera. His voice didn’t just sing — it spoke to the soul. Truly an absolutely delightful afternoon that will be remembered for a long time. 🌟🎵

Thank you, Yuri, for sharing your extraordinary talent and bringing such magic to our residents. Bravo! 👏✨
