Hi, I’m Han or 'Hannah Happiness’. In 2018 I started cycling the world in the name of making happiness accessible & sustainable for everyone. Hi!

Through research, education & activism, I provide talks, mentorship, coaching, retreats, workshops & classes. I’m Han, also known as Hannah ‘Happiness’, and my life’s work is dedicated to making happiness accessible and sustainable for everyone. In 2018, I launched Hannah’s Happiness Project by setting off on an extraordinary journey—cycling across the world to research, practice, inspire and teach happiness while fundraising for four incredible charities. This adventure became more than a project; it transformed into a way of life. I’ve been privileged to share my insights to a wide variety of people and spaces, from those suffering with addition and homelessness to the TEDx stage, where I’ve inspired audiences with my unique stories, philosophy and easy-to-integrate frameworks. Happiness isn’t just something I teach—it’s a lifestyle I embody and share. Whether it’s doing social outreach, facilitating meditation and Qi Gong classes, hosting wellness retreats or offering one-to-one coaching, my goal is to make happiness an accessible, practical, sustainable and joyful reality for all.

In the middle of the Atlantic Ocean; a moment I’d envisaged for years. An experience completely different to what I’d imagined. Heartbreaking news of stage 4 cancer for one of my closest family members alongside other challenges. A chance to sit with profound loneliness and accept my powerlessness. Beautiful yet painful, delivering a clear message:

My heart calls for depth, commitment, closeness, routine and familiarity.

The majority of my adult life was spent on the wildest adventures, many of you have been here following along with me. It’s been powerful and insightful, enriching and humbling. But I no longer need adventure and novelty, now is a time for stability and security.

Again I have been directed back to the UK, a place I never thought I’d settle, yet exactly where I’m meant to be, in service to my family and my own needs.

My presence here online is also changing. I’m fed up of algorithms, insights and even word limits. No matter how honestly you share, it’s still some form of public presentation which feels off to me.

I value a simple and honest life with real heartfelt connections. I’ll still post here for work news and events but my deeper musings and vulnerable shares will be shared privately with a personal audience. No more ‘passive friendships’, people watching stories and posts to feel connected. Instead, monthly personally written emails free of formatting, software and scheduling. My words, in an old school email, to whoever wants to truly connect and write back to me too.

And over the next year or so, I’d like to gradually fade out of this space stripping back communication to phone, WhatsApp and old school emailing, funnelling my energy into fewer, more direct connections.

It feels scary in some ways to go in such a different direction to how the world is evolving but it also feels like I’m honouring something real.

So whether we’ve known each other closely or not, I’d love to connect with you in an open-hearted way.

ＭＩＳＳＩＯＮＡＭＲＩＴＡ
𝔻𝔸𝕐 𝟙 - 𝔹𝕒𝕣𝕔𝕖𝕝𝕠𝕟𝕒 - 𝟚𝟛.𝟙𝟘.𝟚𝟝

You all know I love a challenge! Having started this recent sailing adventure, I’ve decided that I want my own boat! Only problem is, I don’t have enough money for one 😅

A while ago I discovered the story of a woman who swapped a hair pin in a series of trades for a house 👏🏽 inspired by this, I’m going to trade my way to my very own sailing boat! 😅

I’m already dreaming of all the incredible ways we can spread happiness with a boat - healing adventures, detoxes and more 🛥️

The boat I’m on has been undergoing maintenance before the Atlantic crossing, so I went on a side adventure to visit the legendary Amma just outside of town.

If you don’t know Amma, she’s an enlightened being known as ‘the hugging guru’. She lovingly embraces thousands of people as she travels around the world pioneering happiness and peace.

For years many people told me about her, sharing that my purpose and work was so similar, & I had to meet her. I’ve had so many signs like meeting my Tai Chi teacher who spent 30 years visiting & teaching at her Ashram but it never seemed to flow to meet her…

But the moment finally came; shared with some special people to me who also happened to be there in perfect synchronicity. It was time for me to receive my first Darshan (Divine embrace) 🤍

I am still digesting the experience and will share more when I have had more space to integrate it, BUT, yesterday also become Day 1 of ‘Mission Amrita’.

My friend and sister Lisa has donated the first item to actualise this dream - a bracelet blessed by Amma 🫶🏽 Let’s see who offers something of greater value and gets us one step closer to our sailing boat of happiness. Each person who trades will be connected to the previous and receive their personal message 💕

It makes me so joyful to be finally sharing this on here with you all. I’ve been busy busy busy throughout July and August which has kept me from posting and promoting my final retreat before I leave the UK on another adventure (more coming soon 😉)

family has been growing throughout my time in England and I’m so proud to have nurtured such a loving and empowering community with such wonderful people. This has meant that without even putting energy into promoting this final event, I only have 2 spaces left for our largest gathering to date and this one is going to be extra special ✨

The Food For Thought Day Retreat - WOW 🙏🏽

So much beauty, vulnerability, compassion, affection, kindness, creativity and playfulness shared 💛

Hosting my first Hannah-style cooking class brought some healthy competition into the mix of the day 😅 it was vibrant, expansive, excitable and deeply nourishing in all senses ✨

A huge thank you as ever to the wonderful team, especially my co-facilitator , who are essential pillars to make the magic happen and all the open hearted participants who co-create the energy of the space together. So great to see old faces and new, building the family and nurturing closeness, trust and intimacy together 🌹

The next and final day retreat held at the gorgeous before I leave the UK again for a while will be on 13th September. The Catalyst Day Retreat will be a safe space to initiate unravelling and transformation. Co-created by myself and my dear sister , this offering will be full of creativity, silliness and grounding integration practices including breathwork, Qi Gong, expression sessions, movement and play - you won’t want to miss it! 🔥

Meditation is my saving grace. It’s taught me tolerance, compassion, a world bigger than my own struggles. It’s allowed me to let go of so many things that I once suffered with. And the truth is that it’s not as complicated as a lot of people make out, it’s simply about practice and devotion. Devotion to your inner peace and harmony.

There are no shortcuts and you can’t pay your way there, it’s as simple as patience, observing and releasing. The beautiful thing is that it becomes a transferable skill that supports you devoting yourself to other nourishing practices like learning to play an instrument, study martial arts or even just listening actively which is so nourishing for your close relationships.

Years of devotion change the way the world receives you and the act of living becomes a meditation 🧘🏽‍♀️

A significant proportion of my life I viewed myself as extremely extroverted, wanting to engage with everything and everyone as much as possible. That was because my inner world seemed less rich than the outer world. Now I know a sense of internal bliss, I am more selective about what I’m choosing to engage with externally, and really cultivate great love, trust and depth in the connections that I choose. Less is definitely more and quality over quantity.

Those who I work on my events with are truly special people and the spaces we create are rooted in integrity and sincere love. Our custom made experiences help guide you safely with grounded awareness and embodied wisdom. Our next retreat is on 19th July ✨ I am co-facilitating with and it’s going to be magical ✨

Back in the UK and swinging into action. I’ve had an unexpected 11+ months in London and I enjoyed my holiday with my whole heart 🤍

Adventuring with made up of my dear friends .woods._ was a blessing and I honestly had the most wonderful time. It’s also the first time I’ve ever come back from a trip and not dreaded coming home. Despite choosing to extend by two days, that came from a love of being where I was and to fulfil my needs of aloneness rather than avoiding coming back which has previously always been the case.

It just goes to show that your inner clarity and outer acceptance go hand in hand in creating a physical reality that’s harmonious for you. It also shows that application, commitment and consistency will help transform the blockages you experience in your life.

That doesn’t mean there’s never a struggle or moments of sadness, challenge and resistance, but that you can truly live in a state of connectedness and presence, motivation and inspiration.

I would never have imagined I could’ve had this experience in the place that challenges me so greatly but here I am. So if you’re feeling beaten down or running out of patience with your current situation, just ask yourself:

🧿 do I have inner clarity?
🧿 am I truly accepting of my current situation?
🧿 am I applying myself with commitment and consistency?

Take a breath, recognise what you’re learning and remember that growing something from seed to flower takes time, energy and love. Every stage holds its beauty, including where you are 🤍

A vegan, zero waste, solo cyclist, full time life-lover and happiness activist on a mission to make the world smile.

I am currently cycling from Vietnam to England raising money and awareness for four incredible charities: Crisis, Friends of the Earth, MSF (Doctors Without Borders) and War Child UK. The purpose of my mission is not solely to raise money for charity but to inspire and drive an international happiness movement; encouraging others to respect themselves, each other and our planet.

By completing this journey I am demonstrating that anyone can achieve their dreams, live outside their comfort zone and challenge societal expectations. I aim to empower young women by travelling solo through remote and notoriously challenging regions; thoroughly documenting my journey and raising key topics in discussion groups along the way.

Why am I a happiness activist? Simply because I believe the best and most powerful strength an individual can possess is the ability to make someone smile. There are many problems in the world and lots of people fighting for them whether they are animal rights, human rights, raising awareness about climate change or anything else… But we have to start asking WHY these things are issues in the first place. To me it’s clear; we make emotional, selfish and more volatile decisions when we feel distressed or incomplete within ourselves. It’s my philosophy that through altering the world’s perspective and by helping people become truly content, kinder, more compassionate decisions and actions will inevitably follow.
