I'm Thomas, a complementary therapist and certified Usui Reiki Practitioner with nearly 10 years of hands-on experience, now offering professional, fully insured client sessions. My journey began not as a practitioner, but as someone seeking healing and wholeness. Through my own experiences as a client, I discovered the remarkable transformation possible when we address healing holistically. I trained in the Usui Reiki lineage through Lisa Powers and Julie Hayes (see pinned lineage post), tracing directly back to Mikao Usui via Hawayo Takata and William Rand. I continue to evolve as a practitioner through advanced training and personal study. These experiences, both receiving and offering healing, have shaped my understanding of the gentle yet powerful nature of energy work. My practice is grounded in the recognition that physical, emotional, and spiritual health are intimately connected. Chronic stress can affect sleep, digestion, and overall vitality. Through compassionate, hands-on energy healing, we work together to restore harmony within your body’s natural systems, supporting your own healing capacity. I honor conventional medicine while offering complementary support. Each session is an opportunity to reconnect with your healing wisdom and experience the transformative power of energy work. I look forward to walking alongside you on this path of healing and self-discovery. The Founder of Reiki: Dr. Mikao Usui

Every time I work with Reiki energy, I honor the legacy of Dr. Mikao Usui (1865-1926), the founder of this beautiful practice.

Born in Japan, Dr. Usui was a lifelong seeker of knowledge who studied medicine, psychology, and various spiritual traditions. In March 1922, after 21 days of fasting and meditation on Mount Kurama (a sacred mountain near Kyoto), he experienced a profound spiritual awakening. A brilliant light struck his head, and he received the understanding of how to channel universal energy—what we now know as Reiki.

Just one month later, he founded the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai in Tokyo, where people traveled from far and wide to receive treatments and training.

During the devastating 1923 Tokyo earthquake, Dr. Usui and his students provided Reiki to countless victims. The Japanese Emperor honored him for his compassionate relief work.

Before his passing in 1926, Dr. Usui trained over 2,000 students and initiated 20 Reiki Masters, including Dr. Chujiro Hayashi, whose student Hawayo Takata eventually brought Reiki to the West.

Today, I'm honored to carry on this tradition through my own practice, connected to Dr. Usui through an unbroken lineage of dedicated teachers.

I'm really happy to share that I'm now an Online Associate Member* of the UK Reiki Federation.
The UK Reiki Federation is the largest professional body for Reiki in the UK. It supports high standards in training, ethics, and professional practice, and works closely with the CNHC, the UK regulator for complementary healthcare.
Why this matters:

The Federation promotes safe, ethical Reiki practice
Members work within clear standards for training and conduct
It represents Reiki at a national level
It provides professional accountability

Being a member means I work within the Federation's code of ethics and professional standards. It reflects my commitment to offering Reiki with care, integrity, and respect.

*Online Associate membership indicates that my Reiki Level 1 training and attunements were completed in person, while subsequent levels and attunements were completed online and remotely. This membership category does not currently confer practitioner status with the UK Reiki Federation.
