Today is , an important occasion to raise awareness about this chronic condition. πŸ’™

Our member (Susan) noted that this month also marked the beginning of Diabetes Awareness Month, prompting her to share a recognition post.

She has been diligently working on improving her strength and fitness to better manage her HbA1c levels and keep her blood sugar within a healthy range, aiming to prevent long-term complications associated with living with diabetes for many years.

And has played a significant role in supporting her transformation, providing tailored training programs and guidance to achieve her health goals.

Kayleigh first joined us about 3 to 4 years ago and was a member for 6 to 8 months before that.

She reached out to us again in March this year and happily rejoined us in April.

At one point, she was feeling quite out of shape and was feeling pretty down about herself.

Talking with her boyfriend reminded her of times when she felt energetic and confidentβ€”that was when she was last at PT Corner!

Kayleigh really enjoys the variety of classes we offer, and her joyful and contagious personality always brightens our day.

A special mention goes to Sandra, who won our last 6-week challenge a few weeks ago.

She managed to lose an incredible 19 pounds in Body Weight (13 pounds of which was fat).

Here is her review of her experience:

I started at PT Corner six weeks ago as part of the 6-week challenge.

I have been to the gym before, but I've never taken gym classes. It has been amazing, and I actually enjoy the morning sessions at 7, which I wasn’t expecting to do!

So far, they have helped me lose 8.5kg (!!).

My blood pressure has also dropped to within normal range.

I feel less stressed at the start of the working day and am already fitter.

It’s friendly and supportive, with no pressure or judgement - just encouragement to keep going and do what you can.

I enjoy booking into a variety of different types of sessions that challenge me in various ways.

I never thought I’d see myself lifting a bar with weights on it or using kettlebells- but here I am. 😁

I’ll be continuing to go and look forward to feeling fitter and stronger.

It was genuinely heartwarming to receive a thoughtful thank-you card through the post a few weeks ago, expressing appreciation for our support. πŸ™πŸΌ

Harpur Hill Primary School had contacted us earlier in the year, requesting a raffle prize to aid their fundraising efforts for new educational resources and school improvements.

They did a fantastic job organising the event, engaging the community, and promoting the raffle.

As a result, they managed to raise an impressive total of Β£1,578, which will significantly benefit their students and school facilities.

A Little About Us....

We first set the facility up 2.5 years and we did this because both Dave and Callum were personal trainers at another local gym.

Personal training can be quite expensive, costing around Β£20-30 per one-hour session.

They found that lots of people were interested in personal training but just couldn’t afford it.

So they wanted to make it more affordable and more accessible to more people.
