The Health Board was established on the 1st October 2009 and covers the areas of Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport, Torfaen and South Powys. The Health Board employs almost 14,000 staff, focusing on the needs of patients and citizens within our area and has a relationship with a range of staff who deliver primary care services on our behalf including doctors, dentists, pharmacists and opticians and their staff. We are clear that the needs of the patient and citizen are central to the ways in which we deliver our services and support you. Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is responsible for the delivering and securing health care services for more than 639,000 people living in the areas of Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport, Torfaen and South Powys. Our services range from those delivered to you in your own home, in community settings close to where you live and in our community and general hospitals. Aneurin Bevan University Health Board also works with partner organisations and local people, with the aim of improving the health and well being of the people we serve.
