We absolutely love getting to know all the friendly faces across our local community, it’s one of the best parts of what we do.

A huge thank you to Caerleon Golf Club for welcoming us in recently and giving our team a lovely space to set up and work from. Your support helps us stay right at the heart of the village, reaching more older adults who need us.

We’d love to give a huge thank you to Rich and his brilliant team at The RICH Bean Coffee Shop for welcoming us in and letting our community team use a workspace in their wonderful café.

You made us feel right at home while we continued our work in the heart of the community, with a great cup of coffee in hand! ☕️

Dementia affects whole families—and no one should feel alone.

For over a decade, Village Services has supported older adults with a dementia and local people to volunteer and some looking for paid work. We have mentored and trained in many topics along with the mandatory training i.e. safeguarding, first aid, dementia awareness, and health & social care Levels 1-5.

We also work with local medical professionals to harness and regularly update our knowledge—so we can give informed support to neighbours living with dementia and reassurance to their families.

We welcome others stepping forward to help. Let’s build a joined up community approach to dementia awareness and family support.

What have we been doing? Encouraging walking and movement for those who are at risk of falls, pressure sores and muscle loss, walks around the boating lake, the village, Morris's of Usk or the reservoir are some favourite places.

We have started more junior team members on placement from colleges and school for them to gain experience in health and social care. It is always great to see them grow in confidence.

We've also been busy working with the pharmacies and the Dr's to ensure clients have a smooth care process and their needs are met.

We’re kicking off the year at full speed here in our hub. Our amazing JUNIOR -team is already building new skills in First Aid and growing in confidence, ready to support our senior team and continue flying around our community with energy and heart.

Celebrating Our Junior Team
Our Junior Team has truly embodied the spirit of Togetherness, mastering the Coming Home Project for St Cadocs Church alongside our senior colleagues and serving vulnerable older adults with heart and purpose. Their dedication has been recognised with a special honour: Jessica Morden MP has invited them to the Houses of Parliament as her guests. Looking ahead, from February 2026 the team will shadow our senior team on the front lines of care, supported by Operations Director Carys Heath and Registered Manager Rachel Davies. Training and policy guidance will begin next week.
We couldn’t be prouder—your future is bright, and together we’ll continue to make a difference.

Like geese in flight, you soar together — strong, graceful, and united in purpose. But you don’t just fly around our community… you fly with it. You lift older adults and their loved ones gently into new chapters, guiding them toward forever homes with dignity, care, and compassion.
This week, a family shared "We will never be able to find the words to express the joy you all brought to dad and the relief you provided for us. You all felt like part of the family and we will miss seeing everyone." That’s not just a compliment — it’s a legacy. You’ve become part of people’s stories, their healing, their hope.
So feel proud, you awesome birds. You’re not just flying — you’re uplifting lives, fly safe out there, please.

Birthday Honks for Saadia & Malcom! 🎉
In Caerleon skies where the geese do roam,
Two birthday stars take flight from home—
Saadia and Malcom, bold and bright,
Spreading cheer from morning to night!
They flap from the hub with purpose and grace,
Bringing dignity to every place.
With training fresh and knowledge new,
They soar through tasks like pros (who flew!).
They visit shops and local spots,
With honks of love in flapping flocks.
They chat, they laugh, they lend an ear,
And make the greyest day feel clear.
They help with meals, with walks, with tea,
They’re Caerleon’s heart—goose VIPs!
Their wings of care, their honks of joy,
Make every elder shout “Oh boy!”
So here’s to birthdays, cake, and cheer,
To geese who make our lives sincere.
