This summer also saw an interesting and very fulfilling project. A client was searching for his family in the Midlands, relatives of his father, who he had long lost contact with.

A very satisfying outcome, with him making contact with his uncle, and then travelling down to meet the family.

Followed up by a couple of days at the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth.

Some months ago I carried out some extensive research on behalf of the Bute Estate in Scotland. The work involved examining documents dating back as far as the late 18th century in an attempt to identify land owned by the estate in Cardiff.

First off were two days work at Glamorgan Archives in Cardiff.

Earlier this summer I paid a visit to the old parish church at Llanwenllwyfo, Anglesey, to try and find and photograph a family grave for a client.

The photograph shows my viewpoint from where I’m standing just inside the entrance gate, looking down at the churchyard. Underfoot is the remains of a path, which runs down the hill into the hollow below, where the remains of the old church lie.

Needless to say the visit had to be aborted!

On the 21st of August we accompanied Ginger, Andy, and family on a Family History Tour around Anglesey.

Their ancestors were the Meyrick family of Bodorgan Estater, and so the tour was focused on the locations on Anglesey associated with the family, although we did stop off in Llanllechid and Bangor to begin the day.

Another great day out, aided in no small measure by John Pritchard of Celticos Guided Tours North Wales, Outdoor Tourism, Country Lifestyle.
If you are interested in a tour of your own, then please do get in touch.

On the 9th of May we had the pleasure of escorting Liz and her friend Miriam around. Liz's family hailed from Llanddeiniolen and Anglesey, before emigrating to the US. Here are some photos from the day.

A great day out, aided in no small measure by John Pritchard of Celticos Guided Tours North Wales, Outdoor Tourism, Country Lifestyle.
