🌫Grief and loss in yoga🌫
I love sharing yoga with people who have many different health challenges. Delivering a yoga class that is inclusive, accessible and enjoyable for everyone makes teaching a pleasure and privilege.
The downside is that at times these life limiting conditions results in the saddness of death.
The loss of people who you shared a passion with, laughed together and for an hour a week enabled them to let go of daily life.
This year I no longer have the company of Elsie, Jane and Nico. All who brought their own unique personalities to our classes.
They are much missed by family, friends, their local community and fellow yogis.
We have celebrated their life in our respective yoga classes, acknowleding the parts of yoga they enjoyed most, their enthusiasm and laughter.
By being open and talking about Elsie, Jane and Nico we have created a positive space to share memories, value peoples feelings and acknowledge they are missed.
Seems I will never stop using my nursing skills!
How have you managed grief and loss in your yoga classes?
