National Growing for Wellbeing Week 6-12 June
Growing your own produce benefits your physical and mental wellbeing. There is strong evidence highlighting the benefits of gardening, both growing flowers and vegetables, learning to appreciate the natural world and de-stress.
Being outdoors, exercising and learning how to enjoy your surroundings, immersing yourself in nature has great benefits and can have a real positive effect on your mental health and wellbeing. In addition to personal benefits, you can also help the environment by using peat free compost, creating an environment to attract bees, collect rainwater for your plants and recycle materials to build a cold frame for example or make some raised beds.
