Brigid had a truly lovely birthday today at Cherry Tree Care Home, surrounded by her wonderful family 💕

As if that wasn’t exciting enough, we also all joined in with a friendly bet on the Grand National 🐎—lots of laughs, excitement, and a bit of healthy competition!

Brigid turned 83 years young today, and it was a joy to celebrate such a special milestone with her 🥳

🎶✨ What a re-bloody-brilliant afternoon! ✨🎶

We were absolutely delighted to welcome Kaz from MusicCare today, and wow… what a voice! 😍

Residents and staff were treated to a beautiful live performance, plenty of smiles, and lots of toe-tapping moments 🎤🎵
And the highlight? 💃🕺 Harold couldn’t resist and managed to dance with Kaz – proving that good music really does get everyone moving 😂❤️

Thank you for bringing so much joy, laughter, and music into our home today. We’re still humming along! 🎶😊

🌟 Amazing news to share! 🌟

We are incredibly proud to celebrate our lovely resident, Ellen Kershaw, whose beautiful artwork has been featured in a local magazine 🖌️📖

The article highlights Ellen’s remarkable talent and her 1949 painting, which shows the entrance to the old Maindee School on Chepstow Road. After receiving lots of interest from the local community, the painting has now been lovingly restored and placed on extended loan to the library, where it can be enjoyed by everyone ❤️

The magazine also shares Ellen’s inspiring life story – from studying art at Newport College, to working for the Cwmbrân Development Corporation, writing a weekly nature column, and even running the South Wales Swan Rescue for an incredible forty years. Truly a woman of many talents 🌿🦢

A very special mention goes to her wonderful daughter, Tracey, who proudly shared her mum’s painting and helped make this public display possible. What a beautiful example of family love and support 💐

We are so honoured to have Ellen with us and to celebrate her legacy, creativity, and contribution to the community. Congratulations, Ellen 🖼️ 🤩

Our lovely Easter Bunny hopped in with gifts for our residents today 🐰🍫

The tradition of Easter eggs goes back many years. Eggs have long been a symbol of new life, renewal, and hope, especially as Easter falls in spring when nature begins to bloom again 🌱. In Christian tradition, the egg also represents the resurrection, with new life emerging. Over time, eggs were decorated, gifted, and eventually turned into chocolate treats to share joy and celebration with loved ones.

Wishing all our residents, families, friends, and staff a very Happy Easter – may it be filled with warmth, happiness, and a little bit of chocolate sweetness 🐣
