Residents had a lovely time today with Bridget, enjoying a game of bingo followed by arts and crafts. There was plenty of laughter, creativity, and concentration on display. We can never have too many flowers, and our residents were more than happy to help make a few extra for our home 🌸🎨

In the background, you can spot Corrine, our lovely new care assistant, supporting residents during her bank shift and already fitting right in.

Another day filled with smiles and meaningful moments.

Yesterday we welcomed a visit from our CEO, Basanta Nepal, and our Operational Executives Anju to discuss future plans for renovating both lounges and the dining room. 🏡✨

The aim is to give our home a refreshed look and make these spaces even more enjoyable for our residents. Comfortable areas to chat with friends, play games, enjoy entertainment, and sit down together for their favourite meals.

We’re excited about what’s ahead and look forward to creating warm, welcoming spaces our residents can truly enjoy every day.

📰 Cherry Tree News Has Arrived! 🌸

Today we proudly distributed the very first Cherry Tree Care Home Newspaper to our residents. It’s a special little edition covering what happened in January and what we have planned for February. Every resident received their own copy, with extra newspapers available at reception for families and visitors.

This is our first ever newspaper, so please be kind. We are not journalists, just a team who wanted to share news, celebrate moments, and give our residents something enjoyable to read and look forward to. We also apologise in advance if there are any little mistakes along the way.

The newspaper is all about life at Cherry Tree. Achievements, celebrations, activities, smiles, and the everyday moments that matter. And this is only the beginning.

If you have ideas for future editions, stories you’d like included, or suggestions on what residents would enjoy reading, please let us know. We would love to grow this together.

Fun games, big laughs, and a bit of brain power today at Cherry Tree with Lois. Residents enjoyed getting stuck into games together and also spent time responding to their pen pal letters, because who doesn’t love a bit of post that isn’t a bill. 💸
Activities like this keep minds active, encourage conversation, and bring that lovely sense of connection that makes the day brighter for everyone involved. Another busy, happy day well spent. 🎲✉️

Yesterday we were visited by the wonderful ukulele group, and what a visit it was. A huge thank you to you all for bringing the music, the energy, and the smiles. Our residents and relatives had an absolute 💥 blast, plenty of singing along, laughter, and toe tapping all round. Days like this make a real difference and remind everyone that joy doesn’t need much more than good people and a few ukuleles. 🎶

Yesterday Scott visited Cherry Tree and put our residents through their paces with group exercises and some 1:1 sessions 💪😄
There was stretching, moving, plenty of laughter, and a few residents discovering muscles they swear they’ve never owned before.

Exercise like this isn’t just about keeping active. It helps improve mobility, balance and strength, boosts confidence, supports independence, and does wonders for mood and wellbeing. Plus, doing it together turns exercise into a social event rather than a chore.

Thank you Scott for making fitness fun, inclusive, and tailored to each resident. Our bodies might be a little tired today, but the smiles are still going strong 😊

Spring has officially arrived at Cherry Tree 🌼
Our residents enjoyed a lovely DIY art session creating bright daffodils, filling the room with colour, conversation, and plenty of smiles.

With Bridget’s gentle support and encouragement, residents were able to take part at their own pace, gaining confidence while expressing their creativity. Arts and crafts activities like this help improve hand-eye coordination, concentration, and fine motor skills, while also promoting social interaction and a real sense of achievement.

Daffodils are a perfect choice too. They symbolise new beginnings, positivity, and hope. A reminder that brighter days are always ahead.

A simple activity, beautifully supported, and full of joy 🌼💛
