Much Merriment
Today we celebrated NY .
We enjoyed bucks fizz, plate spinning, exercising with scarves and ribbons, balloon modelling. NY selilfie fun, a singer and singalong, small amount of karaoke, bubbles, disco lights, London fireworks and countdown to 2026 ( albeit 12 hours later) pinata fun and finally the turn us into curly heads game. ( quavers, shower caps and abit of cream) With residents throwing crisps at our heads. No staff were injured in the process!

I personally love the pictures of the residents joining hands for Auld Lang Sine. Thankyou to all the care team for joining in todays shennanigans.

PS everything was tidied up crisps, cream and so, so much tissue paper.

Happiness is making Nordic Winter Sock Gonks. Look at those happy faces!

It also solves the age old problem of what to do with all those odd socks, the activity team have acquired over 2025.

Then what to do with your Xmas boxes? have a game of Generation Game with a trolley as a conveyor belt of course. Lots of nostalgia with good game, good game and give us a twirl Anthea.

What a day!

Rob singing, Lindy Lou from Grinch came visiting and then the Panto with the staff.

The props and costumes all made or put together by staff and residents.

Thankyou to everyone who took part, we really have a wonderful team at Crick and I appreciate your help and the joy you bring to activities most days.

Many thanks to my hubby, who was up at 3am for work but came in to sing because he wanted to spread abit of Xmas joy knowing we had to cancel a few events earlier in the month.

On Wednesday, we had a very special birthday.

Kath was 102. The day before Kath had her hairdresser in and Kacy did her nails. Her daughter brought her in a lovely new outfit and her tiara.

The day before we also had a singer in and Rob Knight dedicated a couple of songs for her birthday.

On the day the activity team gave Kath a further pamper with a facial and a natural make over with light pink eyeshadow to match her tiara and nails. I think she looked incredible ( more down to genetics than the makeover though) Then we celebrated with a lovely cake. (Video to follow).

Kath was over the moon with her many cards, pressies, well wishes from all staff, butterfly and flower balloons. She also wanted to thank everyone for making her day so special.

Kath is a much treasured and vibrant member of the home and joins in everything from tai chi, gentle zumba, crafting, baking, pampering, quizzes and singalongs. Happy Birthday Kath you are an inspiration.
