Flu and Covid jabs for the Armed Forces Community!

Veterans Regroup have arranged for a team from the NHS to attend the following sessions to give flu and Covid jabs:

Friday 21st November - Helston Armed Forces Hub
Wednesday 26th Nov – Redruth Armed Forces Hub
Friday 28th Nov- Liskeard Armed Forces Hub
Monday 1st Dec Truro - Armed Forces Cafe
Wednesday 3rd Dec Newquay - Armed Forces Hub
Tuesday 16th Dec Penryn - Armed Forces Café

Go along and meet local organisations that can provide support to you and your families.

Yesterday, the Veterans and Families of Battling On held their own Remembrance service in Landrake. We remembered the fallen, as well as our late friend, Bill Brown.
Lest we forget.

We're incredibly sad to hear of the passing of one our veterans, Bill Brown. We all share many happy memories of his visits to Battling On, including his blunt comebacks, his contagious laugh and his many antics.

We will remember his whittling skills while making the scallop-shell poppies. We will remember him crossing the finishing line on the Dartmoor 30-miler. We will remember his telling us to watch our health and get a haircut. We will remember his book-signing session.

We will all remember him. Thank you for all the laughs, Bill.

We have two Battling On sessions going on this week!
On Tuesday, Battling On will be at Oaklands Community Centre (PL12 4EZ) for a Brew & Banter session. Everybody is invited to come along to enjoy each others' company. Entry and refreshments free.

We'll have our usual Landrake session this Thursday, and it should be a fun one! We've designed an Autumn Quiz, and there will be chocolates up for grabs.

Massive thanks to Food Is Fun CIC for coming to our Veterans session to make Halloween biscuits with us! They were incredible tasty and, dare I say, the spookiest biscuits ever conjured!

Everybody enjoyed the session, and we look forward to seeing you again soon!

Tomorrow, Food Is Fun are coming to cook some Halloween treats with the Veterans!
Entry is free, as are the refreshments. If you're a Veteran, or the family of a veteran, or even serving personnel, please don't hesitate to come along and join the fun! See poster for details.

Battling On are also in Torpoint Library Hub, PL11 2AG, 1000-1200 for a Brew & Banter morning. We hope to see you there, too!

What's on this week?

The Mosaics workshop returns for its final week. If you want to do some Mosaic work in a relaxed, friendly environment, then please come down to South Hill Parish Hall, Golberdon, PL17 7ND, this Wednesday from 1-4pm.

On Thursday, we invite all the veterans and their families down to the Geffery Memorial Hall, Landrake (1-4pm) to join Sarah's Super-Duper SuperSonic Quiz! Better get those proverbial cogs turning!

Refreshments and entry are free, though we encourage donations to go towards the maintenance of our sessions.
