One tool of mindfulness that can cut through our numbing trance is inquiry. As we ask ourselves questions about our experience, our attention gets engaged. We might begin by scanning our body, noticing what we are feeling, especially in the throat, chest, abdomen, and stomach, and then asking, “What wants my attention right now?” or “What is asking for acceptance?” Then we attend, with genuine interest and care, listening to our heart, body, and mind.

🧘🏽‍♀️Mindful: How present are you in your life? Are you aware and accepting of each beautiful, developing moment, or are you forever lost in thought and living in autopilot as life passes you by?

💪Resilience: Do you cope well and maintain a healthy balance of work and rest in this frantic world, or do you feel overwhelmed and stressed, habitually turning away from the chaos and trying to block out the pain with unhealthy cravings?

If you feel continually exhausted from pushing through, from being everything to everyone, and leaving nothing left to nurture you own wellbeing, the 4-week Compassinate Mindful Resilience programme is for you.

Created by Karen Atkinson, CEO MindfulnessUK, it was developed to support individuals, groups, teams, employees and organisations and is recognised by the European and British Associations of Mindfulness-Based Approaches.

We will explore mindfulness, compassion, emotional intelligence and resilience through learning short and effective practical tools and techniques to take forward on this wonderful adventure we call life. Retreat from the world for a morning of cosy fires and warming treats while Ruth Hill and I gently guide you through some wintery-themed meditative and creative activities, including a gentle mindful walk through crisp meadows and woodland. Are the darker evenings getting you down? This time of year used to be a trigger for my anxiety and panic attacks, and because our minds are designed to hold on to our negative experiences, it became a yearly cycle for me - the clocks would change and my anxiety would return. This was before I discovered the transformative and nurturing qualities of mindful meditation. I now welcome the changes that come and go throughout the year. How lucky are we to experience such variety in our four seasons?

Learn how to take in the good and nurture the positive experiences in your life (trust me there are more than you think!) to balance out our negativity bias.

I teach mindfulness through gentle and educational courses that require a commitment from you to practice daily and a promise from me to give you all the tools and techniques you need to live a more present and joyful life.

Seasonal Wellbeing Retreat at Found Outdoors CIC. A morning of meditation, mindful walking and creativity in the woods with me and Ruth Hill.

📚Compassionate Mindful Resilience (CMR)
A 4-week course designed to build mental resilience in a busy world, using self-compassion practices to enable you to put yourself first for a change. My next course runs in January 2026.

📚Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
An 8-week course introducing mindfulness as a way of being - the beginning of the rest of your mindful life (it changed mine!). I teach this course throughout the year for Mindfulness UK. My next MBSR starts in February 2026.
