It feels so good to be back in the gym and moving my body again!
The past two weeks have been rough. What started as a sore throat turned into bronchitis, which meant complete rest, 100%. Even talking left me breathless and coughing, so the gym, running, and even yoga were totally off-limits. But I’m finally starting to feel like myself again, even if the occasional cough is still hanging around.
I’m easing back in: I’ve done a few gentle yoga classes to get my body moving this week, and now I’m back in the gym (along with those brutally early alarms). In another week or so, I’ll start reintroducing my running. It’s not like me to take total rest, but my body needed it, and now it’s telling me it’s ready to get going again.
Just a reminder that it’s okay to give our bodies what they need, whether that’s rest, movement, nutritious foods, not-so-nutritious foods, or in my case, chocolate biscuits 🍪. Life isn’t perfect, and neither is any fitness journey. It’s all about balance!
