Cold start to the day, beautiful scenery, great company and feeling energised! 🙌

Embrace the season: instead of dreading the cold weather, try to find joy in the unique aspects of exercising in chilly temperatures , such as the crisp air and beautiful wintery scenery.

Overall, staying active during the cold wintery months can help boost your mood, energy levels, and overall health. Just remember to stay safe and listen to your body as you continue to exercise during the colder months.

It’s Fridaaaaaay! Which means its
takeout night. All in favour for pizza tonight🍕.

Looking forward to having some special friends over to join in. A lot to catch up on and definitely no time to spend in the kitchen.

So going to ensure it’s a balanced takeaway meal. Throwing in some healthy high fibre grazers before the pizza arrives. Oh not forgetting a salad on the size❤️🍕

Let’s see if I can encourage them to tuck into some 🥕🥒🌽🫛🍓🍇

There’s food science behind this all, add fibre to your meals and it will help you excrete bad fats/cholesterol out of your digestive system so it’s not absorbed into your body!

A slightly unusual day at work …🙌

It was a pleasure having Michael Gove (MP) and his team join my Mindful Eating & Healthy lunch practical session today (Camberley).

Sensory learning was used to educate Clients with disabilities (e.g. learning disabilities, stroke, brain injuries), on how to use the 5 food groups and achieve a balanced meal.

Healthy balanced meals may help to reduce risks of illnesses or better management an existing illness.

Healthy balanced meals are linked to improving (listing just a few):-
> gut health
> energy levels
> heart health
> blood sugar levels
> bone health
> mental health
> weight management

Meals made in the group today:
Mason jar salad, we ticked all 5 food groups here, hooray! 🙌

An avocado dressing to go with the satisfying salad.🥑

Chia seed pudding, topped with coconut yoghurt and berries. A super nutritious dessert (yes you read right, a NUTRITIOUS dessert) packed with omega 3’s, protein, and fibre. 🍧🍓🫐

Disability Initiative (DI) is a charity with amazing staff that work seamlessly together to provide care and rehabilitation to many Clients with disabilities.

Air fryer meals are increasingly becoming very popular. It’s great for getting dinner on the table fast.

And, although not everything made in the air fryer is automatically healthy, plenty of your favourites can be made with less fat and oil by utilising this smart countertop appliance.

I am frequently asked about healthy air fryer meal ideas. So I decided to post one today.

So here’s a great healthy convenient air fryer meal.

Homemade fish cakes & salad:
Batch make your fish cakes and freeze. Easily adapted to your taste, try with either salmon/cod/pilchards/tuna.
When you craving an easy to make healthy meal then pop the defrosted fish cakes (brush over with sunflower/olive oil) into the air fryer (7-8 mins or until crispy).
Serve with an exciting salad.

Try out the recipes from the British Heart foundation or Jamie Oliver has a few fish cake recipes too.
Look out for those recipes with low saturated fats, most recipes have nutritional information or may use the traffic light system - Green on the traffic light system means it has a LOW saturated fat content.
