During the colder months, we will often have a very late transitional phase from wearing shorts or thin leggings thicker, lower body clothing for going and exercising. Basically the weather gets colder, but we only wear warmer clothing on our upper body.

The trouble with this is that the legs have the largest muscles in the body and therefore they can often feel warm but when the skin gets cold the muscles inside, especially after exercise get colder still and this slows recovery and increases aches and pains.

As soon as you feel the cold and start wearing jackets start wearing an extra layer on your lower body as well, especially when attending the gym or an exercise session. You can wear your gym clothes underneath.

Make this a yearly habit and you will keep your body in much better condition and it will hurt less.

BOTTOM LINE: Motivation is incredibly short lived. 90% of the time it is simply down to a decision. Results take time and discipline. With a little discipline comes good habits then results become easier. Once you have achieved them, you know how to achieve them. If it was easy, everybody would be fit and no one would be bothered about having a greater body. We would all want to be millionaires or scientists changing the world. I can only show you the way. You have to make it work. Don’t strive for perfection strive for slow continuous improvement. Week after week and month of the month. Make it part of your not a source of depression or obsession.
