In relationships it can sometimes feel like the best option to go quiet when we feel upset or are bothered by something. But in reality we are denying ourselves the opportunity to express how we feel, be heard and hopefully have a chance to improve the situation. By being quiet also means we are hoping the other person is a mind reader and expecting them to react in the way we want, which often does not go to plan!
