The Year of The Fire Horse, Chinese New Year celebrations continues at The Cambridgeshire Care Home with a wonderful home cooked lunch for all our Residents and Staff. Thank you Head Chef Kevin Bridges, his team and our Head of Operations Manager Renata Bridges, and her dedicated hospitality team for making this a fantastic meal.

Chinese New Year 2026, is the Year of the Fire Horse. This rare, once-every-60-years combination represents intense energy, passion, rapid change, and independence. The Fire Horse is associated with bold, dramatic shifts and is expected to be a dynamic, fast-paced year.

At The Cambridgeshire Care Home we thoroughly enjoyed celebrating our Resident Karin, a retired librarian, a Mother and Grandmother.

We are proud to have asked Karin to become our second "Resident Champion" in thanks and recognition for her unfailing efforts to support other Residents and Staff.

Karin is quite possibly the most positive young lady we know, she is kind, loving, caring and so helpful, she is always looking for a meaningful activity to be able to help and make a difference around the home and for other people.

Home Manager Angie Ryan presents Karin with her badge of 🎖 honour. Karin will be busy next week in her new role, meeting new Residents and welcoming them to the home ❤️ 😍

When Tom Collen, Head of Wellbeing, asked Karin to help him tidy the libraries and sort our collections of books Karin jumped at the chance. Our libraries have never looked so good.

Shrove Tuesday pancake fun at The Cambridgeshire Care Home today for families and Residents.

During our Friends Hour we all enjoyed a word search which started a conversation with lots of interesting facts, then our Residents became very competitive when Dawn brought in the frying pan and bean bags. She had everyone flipping with delight 😊 😃 😄

There's definitely something in the water at The Cambridgeshire Care Home, we're celebrating another centenary birthday.

Hip hip hurrah for Madge who has turned 100 and enjoyed a lovely family gathering in Queens Library.

Congratulations Madge you now join 5 other Residents in the 100 Club. It must be our excellent nursing care, highly nutritious meals and variety of meaningful activities and our selection of facilities and services that keeps our Residents young and living a great life.

A little trip to our village of Great Shelford to treat everyone who looks after us.

Thank you Team Co-Op, Volunteers from Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, our lovely ladies and Local Ladies from Boots Pharmacy, our friends at Angli-EAR Hearing and Tinnitus Solutions Limited and the Teams of Health care professionals at Granta Medical Practices who visit us once a week to complete GP rounds for all our Residents.

We really do appreciate you all ❤️ 😍 💖
