I visited my Sifu's kungfu brother, Ho Kay (a renowed disciple of Ip Chun- the old gentleman in the profile photo; who is my teacher's teacher 師公) and after tea, we had a little fun game of 'sticky hand'- a form of sensing opponent's pressure/force by touch, in the hope of getting through the opponent's defence and deliver a touch to the body. Quite addictive!

After tea, we had a little Chi Sau play 黐手 with 何基師伯 : a kind of sensing your opponent's pressure/force through the arm via touch and from then workout the way through his defence to touch the body.

Martial Artist's number one enemy is delicious food, follow by laziness and ageing! The last one is a natural process, however you can delay it by choosing a healthy life style - e.g. have sufficient amount of sleep, eat well, work and play well. Yes, the right amount of exercise can do wonders to your body and probably your mind too ! You can be stronger, faster, better and most of all feels a lot calmer. Everyone is different, and there are loads of indoor and out door activities to choose from. Question is, you have to find the one you most LOVED - could be badminton, judo, running, swimming, dancing, boxing, Chinese Martial Arts, kayaking, etc...

Good food is one of life's pleasure and it is very difficult to stay away from them especially if you are on a vocation! It is best to eat desirable food, say not too full (e.g. 2/3 full), then few hours later, do some activities to burn some off. This way, you don't need to miss out your favourite food: otherwise, you may have to face couple of carrots and celery as your daily intake. As a martial art artist, personally, I very much prefer the first choice!

Laziness is a horrible trait! Usually, accompanied with the desire to be comfortable without engaging in any physical work whatsoever! These days, huge number of people are engaging in social media platforms. YES, I am aware of the irony: hence, I rarely use the Facebook much😁 !

As a Sifu (a Chinese term - meaning mentor), I don't like my students being lazy and felt really please if they want to learn! If you don't understand some part of Wing Chun, I can help you to understand: but I cannot help you if you are lazy - no one can other than yourself!

That's probably apply to all walks of life!
