IMPORTANT NEWS REGARDING TOETAL FOOTCARE

As most of you know I have now hit retirement age and also my body has taken a bit of a battering doing this job so long. Danny (hubby) and I have decided that now is the time to look for our forever home which would mean me giving up my clinic in Impington.

I will from 3rd August be operating a clinic 2 days a week (Mon/Tue) out of my daughters business (No. 5 Skin Clinic) in Eddington.

I am doing this with a very heavy heart but it is all for the best for Danny and I.

Laura and Sarah will continue and pick up more home visits and actively looking for premises to work from. I will continue to support them as much as possible.

The clinic I will be working from is just outside Sainsbury’s in Eddington, next door to Argos and parking is at Sainsbury 75 mins free of charge.

In the meantime, I am working as normal until we can finalise a sale.

Anybody wanting to buy a 3 bed house with option of working from home, it is on the market with Tylers in the village.

I have had so much support from the village and this has been the hardest decision I think i’ve ever made!

Its been a very busy week with Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday spent with the crew in Liverpool at The Foot and Ankle show, lectures, trade stands and a massive catch up with colleagues. Tiring but worth it!

Humidity and heat in shoes promote dermatophyte growth, this is why a lot of people working in hot kitchens and heavy work boots often suffer with fungal feet!

There is also good evidence that the longer the winter and feet in occlusive shoes, the higher the risk of fungal infection.

So, in a warm country like Spain rates are about 8% but a country such as Russia nearly 80% 😳

A little about Toe-Tal Footcare

I qualified in 2006 and very slowly started my business, first of all just doing home visits after 12 months I moved to offering home and care home visits just offering routine footcare, (nail cut and file, ingrown toenails, callous and corn treatment). Since moving to Impington almost 3 years ago and building the clinic I have trained in Lacuna (fungal nail treatment), Prende Hot Wax Therapy, Medi-Pedi (Routine footcare, hot wax therapy and nail polish) LCN toenail reconstruction and most recently in manicure. I started off working just 2 days a week in 2006 (being a full time mum), now I work 5 full days and if my clients ask me to and I am available Saturdays and evenings too. I am aways looking to extend my knowledge and attend CPD (Continual Professional Development) events on a regular basis to keep ahead.

I thoroughly enjoy my work and the people I meet and nothing makes me happier than putting a smile onto their face :)
