We rally in support of UK midwives and their invaluable contribution to the health and wellbeing of women, their babies and families in the short and long terms. Midwives are at the forefront of women's birth experiences. Understaffing and lack of support are short-sided and harmful to us all.

most women can access their inner knowledge of how to give birth if only they receive
support that touches this place of knowledge inside. This is the aim of all yoga. Wen
interventions are truly needed, loving connection to baby and self can be nurtured.

so true, so important and needed

Resourcing Fathers, Resources Mothers. What benefits one person within the context of a relationship, benefits the other person as well.
A conversation I have A LOT, whether it be within the trainings I teach, or with colleagues or with friends - is about the profound lack of support available and accessible to MEN - in relation to the childbearing continuum.
Collectively and cross-culturally, we are asking the men to participate in pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period, in ways they never have before. The childbearing continuum has largely been women's domain until recently.
While it is beautiful for men to be actively involved in this journey of the childbearing continuum, and while I do believe it is part of our collective evolution as humanity for them to do so - I also understand that: It is profoundly challenging to OFFER something - that you have never before been OFFERED.
The men do not have TEMPLATES of how to show up and be with women during the childbearing continuum. The men most often do not have LIVING EXAMPLES of how to support women during the childbearing continuum. The men themselves often have NO SUPPORT during the childbearing continuum - BUT - are being relied upon as the main support for Mothers. It is a profound, modern-day conundrum to say the least.
I invited my friend William Green, to teach a free class to the Innate Traditions community, to address this very conundrum: Lifting the Veil - Engaging Men in Postpartum Support. To register: https://www.innatetraditions.com/free-online-class-lifting-the-veil-engaging-men-in-postpartum-support/
William is a Father and Grandfather, a Certified Health and Wellness Coach and a practitioner of the Rolf Method of Structural Integration, who has spent over 25 years, directly and indirectly, supporting midwives and doulas. William is now turning his attention to supporting men in our current time of change.
I hope you will join us for this groundbreaking class on May 12th at 12noon MST. https://www.innatetraditions.com/free-online-class-lifting-the-veil-engaging-men-in-postpartum-support/ to register. (It WILL be recorded for those who can not make it for the live class).

9.15pm CET

Theme: Self-Compassion for Mothers

Mama Sangha is a free online meditation group for mums.

Meetings take place via private Zoom calls. So you need to send me your email to receive the link.

🙋🏽‍♀️ I’ve never practiced meditation before. Can I still join?

Yes yes yes yes yes.
There are lots of mums joining Sangha who are brand new to mindfulness meditation.
So I always make sure I give lots of detail and support to those who are practicing for the first time.

How does it all flow?

I guide a 20mins meditation.
Then there is some open space for questions, comments and discussion.
I end the meeting with a 10 mins closing guided meditation/reflection and Poem

🙋🏽‍♀️Will I be seen on Video by everyone else?

If you don’t want to be seen on screen during the meeting that’s totally fine !
When you click the link to join you’ll be prompted if you want to enable video or not.

Can I join late or leave early?

YEP ! Totally fine !
You’ll all be muted on arrival so you won’t disturb anyone if you join late.

Feeling Anxious about joining?
Totally Normal !
This is a really warm, supportive, non-judgemental, space.

And the heart of this practice really is to be with and hold those difficult emotions with kindness and care.

Any more questions please feel free to ask!

And I'll look forward to practicing together on Sunday.

Love,
Jodi

Caution is most needed in the first trimester of pregnancy

During pregnancy we're fiercely protective of our health and feel especially responsible for everything we do and expose ourselves - and baby - too. If you’re pregnant, naturally, you’re concerned about COVID-19 for your own health and your baby’s. Who wouldn’t be? We’re inundated with ove...

Thanks to Kemi Johnson for sharing the positive outcome of this momentous trial in Spain. Step by step, obstetric violence can be exposed and relegated to the museum of horrors in the history of childbirth.

The UN has for the first time condemned a State for mistreatment inflicted on a pregnant woman and her newborn baby, as a gender violence
