Sports Therapy Services is owned and operated by Lesley Oleksyn, a fully qualified and insured Sports Therapist. She is a member of The Society of Sports Therapists and The Sports Massage Association. She has previously worked with Histon Football Club and Cambridge Rugby Club, providing injury rehabilitation and sports massage to the team members. She has since left team work, and is committed to helping private individuals in her clinic. Her main focus is to help you get back to enjoying your activity, whether it is running marathons or running after your children, with minimal pain and self-help techniques you can do at home to help maintain your fitness.

I am excited to inform you that I have now been granted a licence from SCDC to practice Dry Needling as a treatment option. I recently passed the training course, but needed to wait for the Council to issue a licence and, after a bit of a wait, this was finally done yesterday.

Dry needling is a valuable treatment used for chronic pain, stiffness, and deactivation of myofascial trigger points. Using single-use sterile acupuncture needles, dry needling works by changing the way your body senses pain (neurological effects), and by helping release trigger points in the muscle.

If you think it might be something you would like to try sometime, let me know and we can discuss it further. It is not for everyone, but can be a really effective treatment for chronic pain and trigger point release.
