About this job
Christine Marie Care are currently looking to recruit a Healthcare Assistants to provide support for service users in their own homes. As a Healthcare Assistant with Christine Marie Care you will be helping with personal care and support to older adults, individuals with learning disabilities, mental health illness and physical disabilities. You will be promoting independence and supporting them to live a life that is wonderful and fulfilling
Healthcare Assistant Role Requirements:
PEG Feeding Experience
Experience of using a hoist
Epilepsy Awareness, Seizure Management and Emergency Medication
Flexibility. This is a shift-based role that can include working on weekends, nights and bank holidays, so flexibility is essential.
A passion for delivering excellent customer service and a genuine desire to help people
The ability to work well within a team
The ability to work to robust, clear guidelines
The ability to work well under pressure
Up to date DBS/Police Clearance
Driving Licence is preferred but not essential
Healthcare Assistant Role Responsibilities:
If required supporting people with all aspects of personal care where required but always promoting as much independence as possible.
Personal care may include: washing/bathing, dressing, continence care, using the toilet.
Administering medication
Record keeping of all care given for that shift
Offering companionship and reassurance
Meal and drink preparation
Working in a supportive manner with colleagues, families and external parties, building trust by being open and honest.
All our staff receive training tailored to the needs of the people they support.
You’ll join the team working on a rota which may include weekends

With this extremely warm weather it is important to stay safe in the heat. Follow our tips below:
👕Dress light
⛱Stay cool in the shade or air conditioning
🍎Eat light avoiding hot and heavy meals
☀️Protect with sun screen if you do go outside
🥛Stay hydrated
🥵Stay safe, know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke and how to act.
Most importantly stay safe and look out for each other.

Here at Christine Marie Care we know how important good nutrition and hydration is. Wether you like to cook yourself or like your carer to do this for you we take this into consideration when we assess care needs and requirements. You may like to cook with your carer and then eat together, this is something we fully support with especially as it can promote independance and help to encourage people to eat. As we grow older good nutition is so important and is something we actively encourage wether that be home cooked meals or premade ready meals.

With storm Eunice set to hit us tomorrow and a rare red weather warning issued already for parts of the country, I'd like to reassure everyone that we are all working as normal. Our team will be out braving the weather, providing care to our customers. Although please do bare with us if there are some delays due to the conditions this is out of our control no matter how prepared we try to be.

Take care everyone, storms are on the way with Friday set to be the worst day. We are currently on an Amber weather warning for wind and it is starting to pick up here in Cambridge already.
TOP TIPS-
Ensure you have torches ready with batteries incase of a power cut.
Keep wrapped up if you do go out, wind can make the temperature feel much colder than it is.
Try to avoid areas were flying debris could fall on you.
Avoid elevated areas were possible.
Stand clear of roads/train tracks were a strong gust may push you into traffic.
Stay away from open water such as the sea front, strong waves are likely and may take you out to sea.
Stay safe everyone and look out for each other.
