Reminder about our third ever World AMR Week Conference which will be happening tomorrow! Join us in-person at Trinity College, Cambridge for a day packed with exciting talks from key speakers, student presentations about their research opportunities with our society and networking opportunities over a catered lunch. If you can’t make it in-person, no need to worry as we have a zoom link for you to tune in remotely- simply email our President, Ryan Baguley, at rdb47@cam.ac.uk for the link. This Saturday 18th 10am-2pm , The Trinity AMR Action Group will be hosting our third ever annual World AMR Awareness Week (WAAW) conference in the Winstanley lecture theatre at Trinity College!

AMR, or Anti Microbial Resistance, is a growing existential threat where by the over and inappropriate use of our antibiotic medications is leading to a rapid decline in efficacy. By the year 2050, deaths due to infections resistant to our medications are estimated to reach 10 million people a year, and wipe over $100 Trillion off the global economy. It is vital we act now.

On Saturday, we are proud to announce an incredible line of speakers including Dame Sally Davies, the UK envoy to the WHO for AMR (and previous chief medical officer before Chris Witty); Prof Mark Holmes, whom specialises in detecting AMR genes in the environment; and Vanessa Carter, a global patient advocate who survived a resistant infection and who has now dedicated her life to advocating for patients and how an AMR infection can change lives; as well as several speakers from the Trinity AMR Action Group who will keep you updated with some of the projects we have going on at the moment.

This conference will be a fantastic opportunity to network with other members of the field if you're already involved with AMR, or to learn a bit more about many different aspects of widely all encompassing threat of AMR if you're a bit newer.

Best of all, free lunch will be provided to all attendees, as will a certificate of attendance,
