Face to Face appointments continue to be an area of concern for many people.

Are you worried about ensuring that a Claimant in a medico legal case is seen by a Registered Psychologist for an expert witness report?

We continue to offer video-link assessments and risk assess requests for Face to Face appointments.

Clinical Psychologists are in a room with a client for at least 1 hour and have a lengthy face to face discussion with them, putting both the clinician & client are at risk of infection. The clinician & client would have to wear PPE, making communication difficult, and increasing the risk of misunderstandings. It can be very problematic to identify emotional expression when someone is wearing a mask. Neither the clinician or client should remove their mask, for example to blow their nose or drink during an assessment, which can be uncomfortable. Finally some clients find PPE exacerbates anxiety symptoms.

However, we understand that not everyone will be suited to remote assessments.

We have weighed up the pros and cons and believe remote assessments are still the safest way to see clients for civil litigation medical legal assessments, but will continue to assess this on a case by case basis, with Face to Face appointments offered when safe and appropriate.
