From Army boots to massage boots… here’s my not-so-straightforward journey 👇
I started out as a Regular Soldier in the Royal Artillery, working as a UAV crew member before joining the Military Police, where I worked on a range of investigations, including the Iraq investigation.
When I left the army, I jumped straight into the fitness world as a PT and became qualified in GP & Exercise Referral. I even ran boot camps in Rugeley, Hednesford and Burntwood… until winter 2013 defeated us ❄️😂
After that, it was a switch to the council in the benefits department, then onto a degree in Computer Science. I graduated with a 2:1 BSc (Hons)… which, for someone with zero self-confidence and who calls himself “a thick bugger”, was a massive personal win.
Then I became a teacher, mainly working with kids who struggled with confidence and behaviour. Helping them grow was honestly one of the best things I’ve ever done.
One day, annoyed in my classroom and scrolling Facebook (as you do 👀), I saw a post about becoming a sports massage therapist… and I’ve never looked back. Since then, I’ve helped over 165 people through various aches, pains, and problems, and most clients are basically friends now. (Either they can’t get rid of me… or they enjoy the pain too much 😂😂😂)
Today, I’m the proud owner of Chase Sports Massage, an HGV driver, a Reservist… and a dad who somehow fits all this in between school runs and snack negotiations.
If you made it this far… bring coffee next time you come see me 😂😂 or cake. Preferably both.
