Alexander Technique with Simone Nicolette Lantain (MSTAT)

The Alexander Technique helps people recognise the root cause of their problems and provides practical methods to undo these causes. These techniques can be learnt by anyone and applied in any life situation. Simone is a member of the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique and qualified with first generation teacher; Mr. Patrick MacDonald. Simone received three years training and has been working with the Alexander Technique for over three decades. Although sticking to the principles of Alexander, Simone has developed her own unique method of helping people truly return to wholeness. Services I offer.. Alexander Technique lessons

(One to one, lasts one hour)

In these lessons you will receive table work where you will be lying on your back in semi-supine whilst being gently worked on to help you release muscle tension. You will also be guided through everyday movements to experience a different and better way of using yourself. You will learn how to 'undo' your old pattern of 'use' and ways of 'letting go'. Loose and comfortable clothes should be worn, shoes are removed. Nerve Relaxation Technique (NRT)

(Given one to one, lasts 30 - 40 mins)

This is a very effective and relaxing technique comprising of gentle strokes and tapping on acupressure points throughout the body. It helps you instantly release held tension and helps unblock the energy flow. It also spontaneously re-aligns your posture without effort from you. It can be given whilst sitting or standing depending on your ability or condition. You will remain clothed but shoes are removed. Wholeness technique classes

(Small group sessions lasting 2 hours)

In these classes Simone integrates the Alexander Technique (working with mind and body) with spiritual awareness. She has found that this brings greater clarity and understanding as to how we function as a whole. The understanding tends to come to us when we are willing to let go of our old belief system. Only through this 'letting go' will change happen. This often improves every aspect of our lives (physically, mentally and emotionally). The effects can be truly profound. Changes people have noticed are.. Relief from pain
Movements become easier (less strained)
The body feels lighter (as if floating)
Less stress, anxiety and fear
Improved sleep
Feeling happier and at peace
More confident
Improved overall performance i.e. sport, music, singing etc
Deeper spiritual understanding

"Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood,
and I, I took the one less traveled
by, and that has made all the
difference."

"...And after a long time the boy came back again.
"I am sorry, Boy," said the tree, "but I have nothing left to give you-
My apples are gone."
"My teeth are too weak for apples," said the boy.
"My branches are gone," said the tree.
"You cannot swing on them-"
"I am too old to swing on branches," said the boy.
"My trunk is gone," said the tree.
"You cannot climb-"
"I am too tired to climb," said the boy.
"I am sorry," sighed the tree.
"I wish that I could give you something... but I have nothing left. I am an old stump. I am sorry..."
"I don't need very much now," said the boy, "just a quiet pleace to sit and rest. I am very tired."
"Well," said the tree, straightening herself up as much as she could,
"well, an old stump is a good for sitting and resting. Come, Boy, sit down. Sit down and rest."
And the boy did.
And the tree was happy."
