Tim's motorbike accident resulted in him being spat off landing on my head, shoulder, elbow, knee and crushed his foot!

The recovery has been a long and extensive one and suffering with rheumatoid arthritis doesn't help the pain!

Unfortunately his shoulder & neck had flared up massively and after weeks of trying everything, he's been unable to even sleep due to the pain, even with medication.

We worked hard on the neck, traps, shoulder, arms etc in an improvised treatment as he was unable to shake my hand let alone move into the typical positions.

Check out the range before treatment Vs 24hrs later! Absolutely night and day.

FEEL LIKE YOUVE BEEN SHOT IN THE LOWERBACK!?

Often back pain is the symptom rather than the cause even if there is disc damage!

Notice how the right shoulder looks lower, the right hip looks higher and the muscle is way thicker (and was much harder to touch) on the right. It was in spasm and had been for a long time!

It hurt bending down, felt weak when bent over at 45 degree angle or any sort of twisting motion was causing instant pain. Making work extremely difficult and making rest nearly impossible.

I worked on the back to relieve the pain and spasm but knew I needed to treat the areas causing the lateral pelvic tilt, I didn't then he would have remained vulnerable despite initially feeling better.

The key was to get the hips in better alignment by treating the legs, hips and the dreaded IT bands!

You'll see at the end the shoulders look much more aligned which is a brilliant sign and his feedback since he's been brilliant.

So if you want to not just treat the symptom of your pain, but address the cause, message me for a consultation, assessment and appointment for much longer lasting relief.

I also provided advice on how to sleep with this condition, stretches / exercises and equipment he could use to protect himself from further incidents like this!

Been such an amazing last few weeks. Check out these reviews which give an insight into what I do and how I approach things.

A real mixture of injuries from neck pain / tension+ calves, hip flexors and lowerback due to an anterior pelvic tilt as well as back spasms caused by a lateral pelvic tilt.

Everybody is different, everybody gets a full assessment before & after treatment as well advice and resources on how you can continue to not just feel the results but make them even better!

I want to give you the freedom to keep moving, life pain free but also know I'm there if you slip up and need a hand back up!

Next week is now fully booked up, some slots available the last week in February. I am also taking bookings for March & April.

Simply message me issues you are facing, any history of the injury (plus any others!) as well as your best available times to come to Canterbury and I'll do my best to get you in on a time that suits!

1 hour sessions cost £80 until April 1st. Gift vouchers purchased before then available and will be honoured beyond that date ❤️🙏🏻

Cheers
Jim

Back pain is the symptom, the cause is likely your pelvis & hips! WATCH UNTIL THE END FOR HIS BRILLIANT REACTION!

who runs (aweosme barbers and highly recommended!) has tried absolutely everything and his conditioning despite the pain is fantastic, suffering from lowerback pain, we did a full assessment and if you look carefully, like most of us, myself included, has a tilt in the pelvis.

Treating the back itself will help with pain relief, however in order to make it lasting and impactful, it's important to see what's causing the tilt.

I noticed his hip flexors were very tight which is often caused by the quads, this puts a lot of pressure on the lower back, especially when bending forward, sleeping incorrectly or being on your feet all day like he is.

We worked on his back, hip flexors, IT bands, quad and the hamstring, this way we don't just treat the symptom but the cause!

Great to see my mate .drake.50596 for another treatment!

Usually we work on his lower body to deal general tightness, aches and pains once every 2/3 months but this time we went all upper body focusing on the neck, traps, full back, biceps, triceps and most notable the rotator cuff muscles. As expected with the nature of his work, the rotator cuffs were where the fascia was in most need of relief.

You can see in the close up of his rotator cuff how much darker the redding is, indicating it was due! Great results and managed to get lots done as Rob barely even flinches 🤣.

Next up will be his forearms!!!

FULL UPPERBODY MAINTENANCE SESSION!

Another maintenance session with prior to his CrossFit competition with , & the rest of the team on 14th February. (I want a shout out when you guys & girls win 😂).

Josh is a bit of a master at managing injury, a physically demanding job, young kids & taking it all in his stride, something I personally want to adopt this year now Canterbury Kinetic Therapy is full time!

The focus was mainly on the neck, traps & pinching in the shoulder which shows itself on overhead pressing and similar movements which is extremely common with most people with shoulder pain.

Josh seems to find the from a performance perspective, after a week he feels the benefits the most.

I'm always very proud when a medical professional comes to see me and Paramedic and CrossFit enthusiast has been plagued by shoulder issues since 2023.

Miles has tried various treatments including steroid injections which had no effect whatsoever. Unfortunately this is a regular occurrence and we get our hopes up. Steroid injections can also cause weakening of the tendons, often making them counter productive.

A recent MRI scan Bursal aspect tendonosis/shoulder impingement.

Result: immediately after, impingement pain had disappeared. Feeling a lot looser. He has some slight pinching but massively improved! The brilliant thing about Kinetic Therapy is after 2/3 days the results as the skin settled down and it gets even looser than the initial result you see here!

Treating Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (Hypermobility), MCAS & Orthostatic Hypertension to relieve chronic pain and tightness.

*I also treat other chronic conditions such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Vestibular Migraines & POTS*

Back to Leigh, her Hypermobility causes her a lot of pain, starting at her feet up to her ankles, calfs, shins, knees, thighs, It bands, hamstrings, glutes, lowerback and even causing sciatica pain.

This is due to the hypermobility working overtime to support her body, this means her muscles are working overtime to overcompensate for the flexibility she has. This causes the connective tissue aka fascia to feel like it's solidified! So the muscles feel chronically tight all over the body, causing pain, discomfort and instability.

Although Leigh will never be "cured" of these conditions, this helps alleviate symptoms. We do our appointment every couple of months for maintenance, but Kinetic Therapy specifically targets the connective tissue, it's perfect for a connective tissue disorder such as Hypermobility.

I'm going to copy and paste the amazing review below. It's the perfect description of what the injury was, previous treatments & amazing result. really is for everybody ❤️:

After several appointments with chiropractors and osteopaths and ultimately a keyhole surgery for a right shoulder impingement, the improvement in mobility I had hoped was not significantly noticeable.

Disillusioned and fed up with chronic pain, restricted movement and tightness, I started looking for a therapy (other than deep tissue massage which I am familiar with) that would work on my muscles, myofascia and tendons. I had also heard of the traditional Chinese Gua Sha massage technique that uses a smooth- edged tool to scrape skin to promote circulation and relieves muscle tension and releases knots.

As luck would have it, I was fortunate to find Jim who combines his knowledge, personal experience and blade techniques to deliver kinetic therapy. The results were quite amazing to witness, as within a day or so of the treatment, I was able to perform movements I have not been able to perform for months.

After treatment Jim followed up by sending suggestions (videos) for suitable exercises and sleep positions and recommended various supplements to ensure that my recovery will be ongoing. His post treatment care and support is very much appreciated. All done in his own time. Quite rare to see these days!

Jim is a wonderful therapist - caring, professional and skilled. He is empathic and attentive, and makes you feel so at ease.

I shall certainly be going back to Jim at Kinetic therapy, should the need arise.

I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Jim at Kinetic Therapy.

Thank you Jim, you are a star!
