Today was my last clinic of 2025.
It’s been a pleasure to keep serving my clients. As Lakshmi Aesthetics prepares to enter its 5th year, I wish to spread some thank you’s to those of you have kept your faith and trust in me.
My little clinic remains just that. I have no intention of expanding. I’m just very, very grateful to see happy clients returning to my door for their treatments and referring me to their friends.
Because of you, I can work flexibly around my littlest boy and other interests. So thank you!

I’m now taking a break until March.

If you’d like a treatment before I head off on my travels, the 19th September is the last day to get booked in. After that.. I’ll be taking a break until December. Although quiet here in my clinic page, I am still practicing. I’m still treating clients. Still advising and supporting people, mostly women, but some men, with their skin care. I stopped shouting about it a while back. Partly out of respect for my clients, who often wish to remain anonymous or deserve discretion but also because it goes against my beliefs, to market/advertise treatments.

People are motivated to have treatments for very different reasons and that’s ok but what’s not ok for me is to sell a treatment to you that you do not need. Treatments should not be sought on a trend or a whim. They ought to be carefully considered.

My clinic door is open if you want to talk a treatment through but you will never be pressured by me to get in that chair.

It takes a steady hand to work confidently with needles and body parts. Having clocked up a decade of nursing (time flies!), I’m really excited to be able to use those transferable, nurse-y skills in a more creative capacity.

I was 15 years old when my mum first bought sunscreen for me and that’s because the ‘things to pack’ list for my school trip had written it as a must, in ‘BOLD’ type!
I remember choosing it myself, Hawaiian Tropic’ factor 8 oil… because I wanted the best tan and I liked the smell of it. It was very expensive!

Even though I spent so much time outside as a kid, mum didn’t chase after me with a bottle of sun cream, attacking my nose and cheeks with it. No not like us mums do these days. Well… I try but Ryder is faster than me and hates me doing it as much as I imagine I would have hated it.

Mum couldn’t afford sunscreen. It wasn’t a necessity. Nor were the effects of UV rays so openly talked about as they are today.

Ryder does occasionally get squidged with a dollop of AlumierMD but generally I chase him with Heliocare…. For the past 4 years, my face has only seen AlumierMD sunscreen and I remain loyal to this brand because of its effectiveness. It’s a bonus that it smells nice, goes a long way, applies well AND comes in a tinted version. I really do recommend it!

Polynucleotides!!!
If you want to give tired eyes a freshen up, this is the treatment for you. It’s certainly one on my wishlist!
Fine lines, dark circles… no problem.
Polynucleotides address these issues by stimulating fibroblasts which in turn increases skin cell turnover.

The effects of a good skin care routine (I use AlumierMD) and regular anti-wrinkle treatments (I have one 2-3 times a year).

Less wrinkles and better skin quality now that 8 years ago!!

On my stories yesterday, I showed that I hadn’t used my AlumierMD Brjght & Clear exfoliator for quite some time…. And there was a lot of grime sitting on my skin as a result!
I exfoliated again yesterday and then again today. As you can see, the grime is lessening! Because I’m keeping on top of it and being consistent with the product in my routine.

Moral of this story… the more you commit to using good quality products, the better condition you will keep your skin.

BUT effective exfoliators contain AHA’s (aka alpha-hydroxy-acid) and products containing these are best used under direction because they can cause the skin to become sensitive and upset pH balance!

For some reason, I’ve found it difficult to consistently show up here in my clinic Instagram. With the economy so massively #*%^ed up and people the whole county over, holding on to their hard-earned cash, it hasn’t felt right to try and sell treatments. For many, including myself, treatments are luxuries and luxuries are the first to go on hold when times are hard. But that’s a bittersweet position to be in because providing treatments is my bread and butter. So if I don’t promote them and I’m not putting myself out there to let you all know that I’m still here and still treating, I’m not doing my little business any favors!

One thing I am STILL consistent with though, is taking care of my skin. My daily skin care routine is ongoing. No in-clinic treatments but I do continue to take care of my skin. After all, it’s the biggest, most exposed organ of the body. So protecting it isn’t just about slowing down the signs of age-ing. It’s about making sure it’s hydrated and fed well with the right ingredients so that it can do its job properly.
