JoYoga Yoga Classes
Westbere Village Hall, Church Lane, Westbere
CT2 0HA

Thurs 7-8.30pm I have never looked back.

My classes are for all levels, with modifications/variations given as necessary, depending on individual requirements within a group class. My yoga journey began in 2008 when I felt a need to do something different from the gym workouts and other fitness classes that I had been taking part in for years. Yoga gave me the opportunity to slow down and take time out for myself, giving me an enhanced physical and mental awareness and creating space to just ‘be’. It made me look at life from a totally different viewpoint, realising that we do not need to rush and strive and endure all of the pressures that modern day life puts upon us. I have undertaken 500 hours teacher training, completing a British Wheel of Yoga foundation course and a Level 4 teaching diploma. I have been teaching since 2013 in London and Kent and continue to learn and evolve, undertaking workshops and further training in movement, anatomy and embodied yoga.

Tonight’s creation. I have a phone full of photos of the food that I make. I love to cook. It is one of my favourite things. I love to source fresh, local, seasonal produce and create something healthy, hearty and wonderful. Sometimes it’s my own invention, other times it’s with the guidance of my favourite chefs. I never post any of those photos as I guess I think that it’s a bit boring (oh, not another foodie photo) and no-one is really interested. But... why not share something that gives me pleasure. Something that is created with feeling, love and passion. It’s my thing. So here it is. Tonight, it’s barley, kohlrabi, tomato and watercress stew, c/o the amazing Flavour cookbook by , with Savoy cabbage and leeks, with cashew cream sauce, topped with dukka (my own creation). Maybe I’ll post more. Maybe not😉

PAUSE. So here we are. Lockdown #2. Live classes at the hall are of course suspended for the time being. Thanks to everyone who has been back since we reopened, as well as all who joined me online through spring and summer. I am taking this lockdown as an opportunity to pause, reflect and take a little break to rest and restore. Hopefully, live classes will be back in December. I don’t have any online classes planned for the next couple of weeks, but may offer some ad-hoc classes later in November. I’ll keep you posted.

In the meantime, keep safe, keep well and be kind to yourself. Much love 💜

Here's what we are doing in order to adhere to Covid-secure guidelines:

• First and foremost: Please do not attend the class if you or anyone in your household feels at all unwell or has Covid-19 symptoms. This is of paramount importance.
• The hall floor and all surfaces will be thoroughly cleaned according to Covid-secure guidelines before and after each class.
• Hand sanitiser will be available in the hall lobby. Please use this before entering and leaving the hall. Soap and paper towels are available in the lobby bathroom. The toilet inside the main hall will not be in use.
• Please respect the 2 metre rule when entering the hall if others are arriving at the same time.
• The hall will be well ventilated before and after each class. Where weather permits, windows and doors will remain open during the class to allow for further ventilation. (It may be advisable to wear an extra layer, especially during the relaxation session.)
• Mats will be placed 2 metres apart (edge to edge), with spaces clearly marked where mats should be placed.
• Please bring your own mat, blanket and any other props that you feel you may need.
• It is not necessary to wear a mask during class unless you want to. However, please do wear a mask on entering and leaving the hall.
• A full risk assessment, incorporating Covid-secure guidelines, has been carried out. Copies available on request.
